Enjoying the frosty cold and some much needed R&R on the beautiful South Island ๐๏ธ
Oh heeey! I'm Taylor, the gal behind Hazel Field Films and resident hype-squad for weddings.
I've been flirting with film for a long time now but the spark that really started it all was falling deeply in love with making travel films!
Thomas (my lovely fiance) and I, went trekking in the Himalayas, we busted out our cameras and I became obsessed. Capturing how it felt to be there, the sounds, the details, the sweeping landscapes.
It's still one of my favourite things to capture at weddings, and one of the reasons I specialise in destinations and elopements. Whether its the sound of waves crashing, the details on the leaves, or the drone through the mountains, all of these things bring you back to that place.
I've always loved weddings. I was the girl watching Say Yes to the Dress on daytime TV whenever I took a school sickie ๐ They're always beautiful - from the small details you put your heart into, to the conversations that we capture, from the big cheer as you say "I Do", to the soft moment together after you walk back down the aisle.
Donโt get me wrong - itโs not an easy job, but itโs worth it!
I get to capture an incredible milestone in peopleโs lives. I explore beautiful places, and meet cool people! The best bit? I get to witness love every day, whether itโs when I first meet my couples, on the big day itself, or while editing a film. Happy tears have been shed in that editing cave of mine!
Here's some facts you may not know about me;
- I am a big travel fan. I've been to 14 countries with 4 more on the near horizon ๐! My favourite destinations so far are Scotland, Austria, and New Zealand.
- I have a pomeranian called Lulu and she is my heart and soul.
- I was a radio DJ and a Disney Princess impersonator. I will gladly riff-off tunes with any kids at your wedding. Can you guess which princess I was? ๐
- Nothing inspires me quite like a nature documentary. I'll never forget getting Blue Planet on VHS as a kid.
- The number 1 item on my bucket-list is to hike the Tour Du Mont Blanc. I'd also LOVE to stay in a glass igloo in Norway one day! What's on your bucket-list? I'd love to know!
There are not many things I love more than a statement sleeve ๐

Hamilton Island, Fireworks, Romance, OH MY!!
From travelling and luxury holidays to camping with no showers, to being stuck in Covid and lockdown showing them that they could do absolutely nothing together and still have fun, Tamyka and Luke are a beautiful match.
It was such a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of your incredible day lovers, I hope you treasure your film forever ๐

What's my number 1 wedding film tip??...
Ignore me ๐คฃ
Weird advice, I know!
Realistically though, being in front of a camera just doesnโt feel natural for a lot of people. This is why I like to take a candid approach where possible.
I still provide plenty of guidance for you where you need it, but for the most part, try to pretend Iโm not there and just enjoy your day.
This is also why I want to get to know you before your big day, through questionnaires, and a catch up or video call. I understand that the more comfortable you are with me in general, the more comfortable you will feel on the day, and ultimately - the better film you will receive. You donโt need a camera AND a complete stranger floating around you. Also, selfishly, I really like going for coffee with my couples ๐คฃ
I want to capture real, raw moments with your loved ones for you to cherish in the future - so try to lean into it, and unless Iโm guiding you through something specific, ignore me and enjoy your day!
That just married feeling ๐พ
Hey lovers ๐
Hazel Field Films is officially based in Brisbane!
I travel all over the globe for Destination Weddings, but our fabulous home-base is in Bris-vegas ๐
We have had a blast working all over WA, the Whitsundays, and Tropical NQ over the past few years, but we are so excited to settle in to our new home-base and can't wait to meet all of my beautiful Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunny Coast couples!!
Lots of love xx
On today's episode ๐ฟ
After a series of ๐ฅ local weddings, a glorious Loch wedding in Scotland, and a pitstop to film in the Austrian Alps, I am now gearing up for an absolute banger of a wedding day on Hamilton Island this weekend.
June/July has been wild y'all, what an adventure (some up, some down, as is the way with travel)! And it's not slowing down until November ๐ฌ The peak wedding season is well and truly in swing my loves.
If I'm slow on the old emails/socials please bear with me ๐ I have so much coming up to share with you, and I foresee many hundreds of hours locked in a dark editing cave in my future. Send love and caffeine ๐
Love Taylor xx

Cheeky timeline planning tip to help you along the way..
Maybe Iโm biased because Iโm a videographer, but lighting is always my starting point for timelines. Whether youโre planning for sunrise or sunset, my first priority is to nut-out when Golden Hour will be, and what part of my day it is most important for.
Golden Hour is the hour after sunrise and before sunset. It is the most beautiful lighting for photo and video, so working out what I want to happen at that time is my first port of call.
Usually this will be your couples portrait session following your ceremony, which is the best time to take advantage of the gorgeous lighting! Alternatively, there may be a particular activity you will be doing (such as a scenic flight, or a sunrise picnic) that is the star of the show, and so you will want to build your timeline around that.
You can use a sun tracker app, or many of your fave weather forecast platforms to help you identify when the Golden Hour window will be for your proposed date, and myself or your photographer can also help you with this :) Golden Hour goes by in a flash, so plan to arrive at your location just before Golden Hour hits!

I was so excited when Tegan reached out to me.
"We are having a secret intimate ceremony with just us, our children, and our parents. We would love to use our highlight film at our engagement party to announce to everyone that we actually got married already!"
Sign me up!!
These two have the best connection both with each other, and with their children. It's always extra special to witness the blending of two families - and their cute as heck kiddos really brought their A-game on wedding day!
Top it off with the epic scenery by Lambert's Lookout, and a golden glowy sunset that made a special appearance between the rain, literally just for the few perfect hours we needed to get these two married.
Oh - and to do their first dance on the cliff, under the rising moon. I mean come on!! ๐
Congratulations you two - and here's to a long and beautiful marriage!

Let's talk details ๐
One of the first things I shoot when I arrive at your wedding prep is your sentimental details!
It gives you and your crew some time to get used to having me and the camera around, and it's also before your detail items start getting used!
It's supremely helpful to have all of your sentimental items set aside somewhere before we arrive, so myself and your photographer can get right to filming them in all their glory, and you can focus on getting ready with your loved ones โจ
Details might include;
- Jewellery
- Perfume/Cologne
- Shoes
- Invitations
- Flowers
- Ribbons
- Rings and rings boxes
- Gifts from/for your lover
And a host more!
What were your favourite wedding details?

Have you seen the beautiful National Proposal Day stories going around?!
National Proposal Day was founded by John Michael OโLoughlin, who created the holiday after watching his cousin wait for years to be proposed to.
He designed it to remind people of the possibility of proposing before life passes by.
Because it falls not too long after Valentineโs day, it is said he decided to make this holiday take place on the vernal equinox (March 20).
This is the day when the stars and planets align to make life-changing events happen ๐

Jamie + Rob Campbell 14 โข 08 โข 2021 Their wedding day was full of sentimental, personal touches, like a trip to Jamie's Pop's train station, bridesmaid dresses handmade by Mum, Rob's Grandpa's watch, Grandma's 80th birthday celebrations, and a first look with Jamie's Dad under the tree her Pop planted. Topped off with Jamie and Rob's unique love story, incredible vows, and stunner of a venue! Oh.. and a special announcement ๐ It honestly felt like such a privilege to be let into a day like theirs. I hope I did them and their beautifully connected family justice with this film, and I hope you love watching it. Lots of love - Taylor ๐ค
Who's in your wedding tribe?! I absolutely LOVED being a bridesmaid for my bestie. She's fashionable AF so I got an awesome dress, and she gave me free reign on the charcuterie board creation, which is a fave pastime of mine. Don't even get me started on the riot of a hens night.. ๐คฃ It's such a special thing to be surrounded by your nearest and dearest, and if this little compilation is anything to go by, they often serve you some of the most hilarious and high-vibe moments of the whole day. (They also never fail to whip out emergency panadol, bandaids, or booze!) Tell your wedding honeys you love em today!
This just in.. These two beautiful humans are expecting a baby Campbell!! Congratulations honeys, you are going to be the most fabulous and loving parents! There's a bit of extra magic having you on my editing screen today ๐ฅฐ
I can't believe it's been a week since these two beautiful souls tied the knot. Skye and Alan put together the most epic surprise wedding! They got ready with their nearest and dearest, eloped on a beach that means the world to them, and then rocked up at their "engagement party" and surprised everyone with the fact they had gotten married earlier that day! It was an incredibly emotional, high-vibes kind of day - and it suited them perfectly. These two are the perfect example of how you can have a genuine, connected, meaningful day, without the pressure of a traditional wedding. Honeys, it was honestly a privilege to be a part of this day with you - thank you for letting me in to how you were feeling, and trusting me to capture your special moments. Guess who's film is coming this week.. ๐ Brodie + Tobias were such a mood on their wedding day! Brodie is the most vibrant, vivacious woman - a total wild child. In complete contrast, Tobias is a super chilled out, easy-going dude. They fit perfectly like puzzle pieces. The thing they clearly both have in common... they bloody love a party! I mean it when I say their day was a rollercoaster of emotions.. from a Father of the Bride speech that literally had the whole room in weepy puddles, to Brodie sat on the bar drinking the boys under the table - it was a riot, which makes for a riot of a film! ๐๐๐ Not long now honeys! ๐ . . . Sometimes you just need to stop and take a breather. Things have been pretty wild lately, and I need to keep reminding myself to take a pause, and enjoy the little things. It's no surprise that my macro lens is my favourite really.. I love being able to experience the smallest of delicate moments in a new way. I love capturing and including shots like these in my films. Especially my travel films and outdoor weddings. They tell the story of a place, an atmosphere, an adventure. But most of all, they remind me of the peace in wild things.. ๐ฟ

K Mac Florals consistently bringing the goods ๐ฟ I put the public holiday to good use today and made wicked progress on my latest wedding film, featuring these stunning blooms. Creating the audio story of a film is always the longest part for me creatively and often my hardest sticking point. 1) Picking the right music (this takes me FOREVER. I want perfect tunes and perfect tunes only). 2) Transcribing every bit of usable audio from the day and then constructing it like a jigsaw puzzle to get every piece in the right storytelling place. 3) Laying all of those audio pieces onto my chosen ๐ต tracks, and then slicing and dicing up the music to make everything flow perfectly where I need it to. Sometimes I get stuck on this for days/weeks, but then I have a day like today where the vibes are immaculate, I finally find the tunes I'm after, and suddenly 10 hours has gone by and i've made killer progress. Thankfully today was one of those days.. even though I stayed in bed until midday ๐ Anyone else have a cheeky holiday sleep in?
This was such a dream to create. Nestled into the Eungella Valley, we went exploring in the rainforests of #FinchHatton. I was so inspired by the forest. The calm, the water on the leaves, the sense of peace, like you could just be there forever and never quite see everything there was to see. A friend and I revisited the same spot and we spoke about how, when you're immersed in nature like that on your own, it's the closest you ever feel to being truly human. Being a part of the earth, not just living on it. It was just serene. Not a bad spot for an elopement! Ali + Tom are absolute gems. Their love is plain to see. The way they make each other laugh with their crazy jokes, the way Tom constantly gathered the leaves out of Ali's dress and shoes (we LOVE a bride who's not afraid to get a little grubby), and the way they find their peace in each other. It truly was beautiful to witness and big love to them both for sharing a little piece of it with me. . . . ๐ฑ The dream team ๐ฑ Florals: Blossoms Flower Boutique Hair/MUA: Lush Beauty Bar Robe: The Label House Collection Tan: NATURAL BODY AND BEAUTY CLINIC Nails: Lavilicious Nails Lashes: iBeauty
