Taranta Meanjin/Brisbane will be joining Zumpa with traditional dancing from southern Italy.

They've taken their dance moves up and down the coast, from folk festivals to dance parties, and I'm sure they'll inspire a few people to get up and learn a move!

This saturday, 2pm: Concert to Save the Commons

McNab wants to wreck the commons and evict working class tenants from the Riviera building next door—come jam at the commons and help build the community campaign against this outrage!

5pm - Open mic for anyone to share a song about the commons, a story, spoken word or piece of art

Westender did a nice writeup on Forbes Street gigs that take place where the river bends. Nice to see the local DIY community spirit celebrated.

On the last Sunday of each month, for the past three years, Forbes Street has transformed from a sleepy Hill End street into a vibrant and energetic music setting. We asked organisers, Paul and Natalia, to tell us how it started and why it's so popular.

Thanks to the Paradise Street Community Garden volunteers the pizza oven has a new chimney, and hairdo.
It’s still drying, but will be ready for next Sunday (weather permitting!)
