Putting in the Seed
..........if what you came for and become like me,
Slave to a springtime passion for the earth.
How Love burns through the Putting in the Seed
On through the watching for that early birth
When, just as the soil tarnishes with w**d,

Robert Frost beautifully tried to convey the message for a married couple in words,"if what you came for and become like me .... by planting a seed together may be considered as an act of passion but the greatest reward is experienced when both of them witness the little tender sprouts burst from the soil.

I could not resist to post this poem as poet has compare two lovers with compass ; dedicated to all lovers on "Valentine Day "

Indeed, the separation merely adds to the distance covered by their love, like a sheet of gold, hammered so thin that it covers a huge area and gilds so much more than a love concentrated in one place ever could.

My favorite lines from poem......

Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to airy thinness beat.

If they be two, they are two so
As stiff twin compasses are two;
Thy soul, the fixed foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if the other do.

And though it in the center sit,
Yet when the other far doth roam,
It leans and hearkens after it,
And grows erect, as that comes home.

Such wilt thou be to me, who must,
Like th' other foot, obliquely run;
