How to Propagate Pothos in 5 Easy Steps
Pothos, also known as Devil’s Ivy, is one of the easiest plants to propagate. If you’ve ever wanted to grow your own plant from a cutting, follow these five simple steps:
1️⃣ Select a Healthy Cutting
Choose a vibrant, healthy vine from your pothos. Look for strong leaves and no signs of pests or disease.
2️⃣ Cut Between the Nodes
Find a node (the small bump on the vine where leaves and roots grow). Using clean scissors or shears, cut just below the node.
3️⃣ Fill Up a Glass
Grab a clear glass or jar and fill it with room-temperature water. Ensure it’s clean to keep bacteria at bay.
4️⃣ Place the Cuttings in the Water
Submerge the cut end in the water, ensuring the node is underwater but the leaves are not.
5️⃣ Watch the Magic Happen
Place the glass in a spot with bright, indirect light. In a week or two, you’ll see roots starting to grow. Refresh the water every few days to keep it clean.
Before you know it, you’ll have a brand-new pothos ready to pot! 🌱
