So much colour and so much fun at Libby and Jofre's Saturday evening wedding. The tradition of Venezuelan Happy hour at the reception had guests in colourful hats and accessories dancing for well beyond the 'hour'. A fantastic celebration. Congratulations to you both.

Writing personal wedding vows can be easy for some but hard for others. My best advice is just to be you. Think about why you love your partner and write down your 'I love you becauses', your 'promises' both serious and fun, and don't forget the 'I can't wait to...'.
Your celebrant is always just a phone call, text or email away to help you put your feelings into words. ❤️💙🖊🌈

So this weekend was something special. My Dad married his partner Julie in a small ceremony at the beautiful Darling St Chapel. His grandkids (my son and daughter) and Julie's grandkids were the bridal party. Obviously, I was the celebrant. 🙂 It was a special moment.
Love is infinite and knows no age. Whether you are 20 or 80 or 100, Love Is Love. 🥰

Did you know that the tradition of 'giving away the bride' evolved from the first weddings recorded circa 2000 BC? The bride's father would literally agree with the husband-to-be to give his daughter away to be married to the gentleman (we can only hope he was) for some exchange.

Although this can still occur on some level culturally, it is now a very different experience in modern weddings. It's not even just the Father of the Bride who can walk his daughter (or son) down the aisle. Mum often joins in, or a brother or uncle can replace absent or passed parents. The other partner's parents can also join in and make the couple completely welcome into each of their families.

There is no one size fits all and the options to re-write this tradition are endless.

HE SAID YES!!!

February 29th only comes around every four years and this elusive day holds a special tradition dating back to 5th century Ireland. 🍀

So the story goes, St Brigid of Kildare insisted that Ireland's patron saint himself, St Patrick, give women permission to propose every leap year. When Patrick relented, Bridgid claimed the moment and proposed to him. 🥂💚❤️

Do you want a traditional wedding or would you prefer something different? Unique?

Times are changing rapidly and ways of thinking, even more so. As long as you follow the legal requirements for a wedding in Australia you can create something that echos YOU!
