Iceberg Events was established in 1996 by Professional Conference Organiser and Managing Director, Jodie Parker. Since then this Brisbane-based events company has grown into a dynamic team comprising of Event Managers, Event Coordinators, Event Assistants and a full-time Graphic Designer. In that time, Iceberg Events has put together fantastic conferences, conventions, symposia, trade shows and ex

EVENT CASE STUDY – Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference

The inaugural Listen, Connect, Reflect Conference was held 11-13 May 2023 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Iceberg Events was proud to organise this conference bringing together the community sector working to end domestic and family violence in Queensland.

The conference attracted front line workers, government policy makers and people with lived experience of domestic and family violence. Sessions focussed on dissecting the current National Plan To End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. Comments from delegates indicated the conference was very impactful and a huge success.

Iceberg Events were involved with all aspects of organising the Conference, which was a great success.

Type of Conference: Community Sector
Biggest Challenge: Planning for the conference started with a shorter lead time than normally required. Strong relationships with our client and suppliers enabled us to work together quickly to create a successful conference.

Event Highlights:

The coming together of the community sector actively working against Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland.
Speakers being primarily frontline workers.
The presence of the Cairns DV emersion activity Every 2 Minutes allowing delegates the opportunity to experience what it could be like living with domestic and family violence in a safe and facilitated environment.

EVENT CASE STUDY – Rehab For Kids Conference

The Rehab For Kids Conference was held 2-3 March 2023 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Iceberg Events was proud to organise this conference bringing together paediatric rehabilitation workers from around Australia.

The conference attracted physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and academics working in the largest paediatric hospitals and private practices around Australia. Leading academics from Canada, Belgium and Rome presented keynote presentations along with local Brisbane speaker Kerry-Lee Gockel.

Iceberg Events were involved with all aspects of organising the Conference, which was a great success.

Venue: The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Number of attendees: 306
Type of Conference: Scientific

Biggest Challenge: The 2023 conference was the first time this conference has been held in a convention centre and outsourced to a PCO. This provided uncertainty around the total delegate numbers. Registrations increased dramatically in the final weeks before the conference. Strong relationships with the venue meant that changes were able to be made last minute to accommodate the growing numbers.

Event Highlights:
1. First time this conference has been held outside of a hospital.
2. First in person conference in 5 years.
3. International and domestic speakers from around Australia attended in person.

Congrats on 17 Years Lisa & Happy Farewell

Congratulations to Lisa Ma on her 17th Bergerversary today! We have news... she will also be "retiring" from Iceberg Events and Networx to embark on a new adventure! Her dedication to Jodie Parker has seen her in a number of various roles over the years. She first started out with Jodie in 2003 as an event assistant for conferences, secretarial role for a number of associations and in recent years has been our in-house graphic designer. Most people would know Lisa as the Networx Brisbane events extraordinaire, organising and MCing the monthly networking events around Brisbane for the past 15 years. It is her love for Networx that has her finishing up at the upcoming Networx event on Wednesday 26th February. Her bubbly and caring personality will be missed by everyone who have had the pleasure of meeting her. We wish her all the best with her future endeavours and know she will shine at her next adventure. In her absence, we're excited to announce that Brodi-Rose Newsome (5 years as an Iceberger) will be our in-house graphic designer, and Grace Lingard (our new superstar) will be taking over the management of Networx events! Lisa has worked hard to make the transition as seamless as possible so it will be business as usual for us, we have great confidence in Lisa's amazing legacy.

What a year it's been! All of our events for 2019 are done and dusted 👏🏻 . This year our team grew to 11 staff, with 3 event teams, and together we managed over 7,000 delegates at 34 events! 😮 . Don't worry though, we are still in the office until COB Thursday 19th December 🥳🎄
