Kasey B Photography’s Story
Its always a huge honour, & such a humbling thing to me, that I get to share & capture peoples important moments. Those moments become memories, & those memories become precious. Our children grow, & loved ones pass, & very quickly we turn to our photos, which become the keys to our memories & emotions. They are our past, our story of who we are & the life we live, &, I cannot have hoped for a more important thing to fall in love with doing. I am a photographer, I freeze time, capture a moment & create keys.
My name is Kasey. I am a wife, a mother, an explorer & photographer. I am based in South East Queensland, half way between Brisbane & the Gold Coast but I love exploring new places, learning peoples stories & capturing the moments that are part of those stories.
After having the love of photography instilled by my mother as a child, then cemented with the passing of a number of loved ones, I realised how important our photos actually were when I looked at old photos & could compare myself to my parents & grandparents, & even my grandparents to their parents. I could see similarities in faces, I could see where they lived & put a picture to stories I remembered hearing, Or, I would remember things that had happened while I was young, that I wouldn't have, without the photos.
I have had my own camera since being young but seeing my love for photography, my husband gifted me my first DSLR which lead me to learn all I could on my own. I was encouraged by some family to take photography up as a job but I was scared that I would eventually hate it if I had to do it all the time. I gave it a go anyway & ended up falling more in love with photography & for a while, I ate, slept & breathed photography, reading & watching everything I could find to try to learn as much as I could. I started out shooting a bit of everything but now focus on weddings, couples & maternity shoots mainly. I feel I have been blessed to have met some amazing people through my photography & love that I have been made to feel like another friend rather than “the paid help”, its a beautiful thing.
