Gympie Music Muster Mothertone Talent Search 2024
A very well done to every artist who got to Gympie for the Finals of the Mothertone Gympie Music Muster Talent Search 2024. The standard was high and the full crowds got to see great performances all the way through.
We are thrilled to have seen the big audience attendances this year, not just for the Grand Final on Sunday but every day of the Talent Search.
It shows how much the people are following this event knowing that they are watching the next generation of Australian country artists coming through.
The Finalists this year sure didn’t make it easy for us given every one of them in JNR and OPEN were excellent. Off-stage chatting with them, they were all lovely people, which is so important also.
The most remarkable thing about this event is the ‘genuine’ support and camaraderie the artists show towards each other. It’s a credit to the culture within the Australian country music industry.
Saralyn shined brightly all the way through and continued with her Mainstage performance after being announced OPEN Winner for 2024. Aside from her songwriting and performing prowess, Saralyn is as photogenic on and off stage as her songs and delivery are memorable. A complete package ready for greater things in the country music industry.
Keely Ellen, our junior winner did a fabulous job in her Semi Final with her strong songs and style getting her to the Grand Final. Keely was then unwell on Grand Final day and handled a difficult moment like a professional. In the end, we are all human and careers in music are demanding. How we deal with the difficult moments are what takes us through.
Mackenzie Lee was fantastic with her powerhouse voice and very strong songs. This earned Mackenzie the well deserved Encouragement Award. We expect a strong future from Mackenzie.
It was also a great bonus to have Denvah join us on Sunday to share with us a little of her year since winning in 2023, and to perform her new single for us.
A huge thanks to our MC’s Kate Hathaway from Midwest Molly and Lee Griffin who were wonderful in keeping the flow and chat on stage between acts. They are both artists themselves, so they know what it’s like. They did a great job of interviewing and preparing every artist offstage before their performances.
It is important to remember that every Mothertone Talent Search Finalist got to play for great crowds at the Gympie Music Muster. On top of the invaluable experience, every Finalist also won over new fans to follow them going forward. In these ways, they really are all winners. A very well done to all.
