What is a Rissole
The Australian Rissole is a traditionally Australian meat patty often served with gravy and mash potato or in bread with salad as a Burger. The Origins of the Australian rissole is in the same line as the American Meat Loaf but how typically Australian it is Barbequed with a beer in hand. The Australian Rissole was invented and became popular during 1914-1945 during WW1/WW2 as a means of stretching meat rationings set by the Australian government. Rissoles were made by butchers and housewifeโs to use different meat cuts and often off cuts of meat, then finely minced with left over bread crumbs abundant flour, eggs and a selections of vegetables/herbs to improve the flavour. The Australian Rissole has evolved over the past 100 years with most Australian Families having special recipes and secret ingredients including; beer/alcohol, Vegemite, Cheese, Cornflakes, Carrot, Chilli and a selection of Spices from all over the world.
Our Rissole uses Low Fat, 100% premium grass-fed Australian Hinterland Beef, we use Free Range Eggs and the best quality herbs. We cook all our rissoles on a Char-Grill to allow extra Fat Burn off, and have been known as a โlike a Juicy Meat pillowโ but customers.
