« 2024 HERE WE GO » The time has come for me to get out of my daggy trackies, slap on some makeup, don a frock and start getting all of you 2024 couples married!

After meeting you, emails, catch-ups, chats and planning sessions over the last few months, I’m beyond excited to finally be able to bring your ceremonies to life. I don’t always know how it happens, but the best people seem to find their way to me and as cliche as it sounds, I’m so privileged to be invited to be a part of your wedding day. Pinching myself lucky really. Thank you for having me ♡

Side note: My Broome availability calendar is deliberately sparser this year as I’ll also be doing my celebrant thing in Exmouth for the first time. Very pumped about it too I must say. Limited availability for June, August and October if you’re planning Ningaloo nuptials and need a celebrant 😉

FIVE REASONS I LOVE SARAH & TOM’S WEDDING

✨ After a first look, Sarah & Tom rocked into their ceremony together, with their wedding crew & guests waiting to welcome them [bonus points for Paul Kelly entry song]

✨Their ceremony was a collaborative affair ~ Yawuru T.O Di Appleby welcomed us to Country after a smoking ceremony, one of their friends shared their love story and another did the Asking [thanks Hocko & Ava!] and I did the rest. Fun.

✨ The wedding crew didn’t conform to the standard same s*x, same side. Nor did they wear matching outfits. A good reminder there’s no rules here folks!

✨ We signed the paperwork after the ceremony but not before the champagne.

Ash & Dave’s wedding was always going to be incredible. It gave them the opportunity to really let their party throwing prowess shine…it was stylish, it was classy, it was fun and there was no detail left unconsidered. But it also had a certain je ne sais quoi; an extra kind of magic that happens when not only the couple share a massive amount of love for each other, but all the guests share a massive amount of love for the couple. Which ultimately is a reflection of the couple themselves. No surprises there as Ash & Dave are two of the best people around, adored by everyone who has the privilege of knowing them.

Congrats again Mr & Mrs Aristei….I’m beyond grateful to be your celebrant & your friend ♡

An absolute delight to moonlight down in the southern part of our state to get Emily & Brad married. A sunshiney afternoon at Madfish Bay played host to their intimate ceremony, then we toasted Boston Brewery beers as we signed the paperwork. Simple, relaxed, beautiful, fun. I love this photo of Nikita & Dave, taken by Swift Hound Weddings - Films & Photography , sharing a little moment between themselves before we got them married. I love it because candidly captures them and their genuine, loving & fun relationship so well.

I get asked a lot for photographer recommendations. A good photographer will of course do your portraits, family photos etc but will also capture the essence of you & your relationship; those small, fleeting moments that happen throughout your day. They will tell a visual story. One that can do this is worth their weight in gold. We are lucky to have some very talented and lovely wedding ‘togs in Broome, each with their own style & vibe. ✨NEW YEAR UPDATE ✨

In a week or so, I’ll be packing up Broome life and heading off on my annual southern sojourn, which will have me floating around the bottom end of this fine state until late April. A handful of down south nups and catching up with a lot of you 2023 hitchees is on the agenda. There will be plenty of R&R too ~ which I find extremely important to keep the creativity alive & well.

My 2024 bookings will open in late April/early May. Thanks for your patience to those waiting.

The social media love has been at an all-time low of late but when inspiration strikes, I’ll post more of the beautiful & diverse 2022 weddings I’m yet to share (yes yes I know, I’ve been very slack!)

Finally, as I consumed my traditional bottle of New Years Day French, I felt pretty smug happy reflecting on all the 2022 wedding moments as well as casting my eye forward to all the 2023 ones that await. I gave myself a pat on the ‘ole back too. And then I raised a toast to all of it. Cheers everyone! ♡

It was only natural that when they got married, it was going to be done in their signature adventurous style ~ heading west to the Kimberley for the first time and choosing to elope in Broome with myself & Julia Rau Photography by their side.
