The fire at Barktown Rd last night, photo from Fishers Rd, is currently contained but still out of control. An advice warning remains active.

Please stay alert and ensure your fire plan is ready. The rain should be helping.

Our thoughts are with the crews battling the blaze, and we hope it is fully under control before the weather heats up over Christmas and Boxing Day.

🎄 Budger-tea Christmas Party Wrap-Up! 🎄

Our Budger-tea Christmas Party was a wonderful success! We were thrilled to welcome a special visitor—Santa himself—who spread joy to everyone in attendance. The day was made even more special by a fabulous traditional Budgeree feast, bringing our community together in true festive spirit.

As we wrap up 2024, we want to wish everyone a happy holiday season and a safe and joyous New Year. 🎅

We’re excited to announce that Budger-tea will return on January 23, 2025. Mark your calendars—we can’t wait to see you in the new year!

🎄 That’s a Wrap for the 139th Budgeree Christmas Tree! 🎄

What a wonderful evening of community spirit, great food, lively music, and, of course, Santa!

A huge thank you to the Strzelecki Stringbusters for filling the hall with their incredible tunes, fun, and joy. The music truly brought the night to life!

Another big thanks to Santa, who arrived right on time to delight the crowd with his festive cheer and lollies. (He swears he hasn’t aged a day since his first visit to Budgeree! 🎅🤣)

To the Hall Committee and all the amazing helpers—thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes. Your dedication made the night extra special.

A thanks goes out to Yarragon bakery -Traralgon, manager, Megan for supply and delivery of our bread products and that delicious carrot cake and lemon slice. 😋

And finally, thank you to everyone who came along! Despite a busy night of Christmas celebrations across the region, your presence helped make this event another unforgettable success for Budgeree.

Here’s to keeping the festive spirit alive and thriving in our little corner of the world! 🌟

BBQ dinner available or bring your own picnic it’s a beautiful warm evening and we have plenty of space.

Two days to the Budgeree Christmas Tree and the tree is in place and dressed. Thanks to Imogen, Jesse and Austin for all their work.

We have seen the weather forecast a beautiful calm 27oc . Bring a rug and have a picnic in the grounds.

We were pleased to welcome Darren Howe to Budger-Tea today. Over the past year, Darren has served as the Mayor of Latrobe City Council and came to see firsthand how this community initiative brings people together. He enjoyed a cuppa with us, before Edgar and Leanne guided him on a tour of the hall and the former Budgeree School.

Full house at Budger-tea today, even had to add extra tables. We had amazing food, great company and Libby providing entertainment on the piano. So lovely to see so many coming along to support our morning tea.

Ausnet says the power should be back on tonight. Boolarra was back on yesterday.
