Excuse my amateur video but this is really important to me. As a florist I cringe at the amount of single use plastic we throw away, or the recipient does, even if we recycle, it never totally breaks down.
Sooooo now I have my own business I've been working on becoming more single use plastic free and giving back to the earth what it deserves.
Dont get me wrong plastic Is great for some things and I dont totally despise it, but single use plastic is a major problem and as we know is harming our earth.
I can now proudly say I've almost achieved this (apart from parafilm for flower crowns and stickytape in small amounts), it sucks it costs less for plastic items but I think to provide more natural materials for me, is what I want to do.
To be more plastic conscious it costs slightly more for myself but it's so worth it.
We now wrap our bunches in premium embossed paper, brown paper, fabric and raffia or brown string and our bunches look even more gorgoeus than before. We secure our water bubbles with a compostible bag (that still looks pretty ).
My fresh flower studio practices are now no CELLOPHANE or POLYESTER ribbonxx
As a business owner I hope this encourages others to do the change xx
