A note on reusing items from your ceremony to reception:
We all know budgets are tight these days, so reusing items from ceremony to reception is a wonderful way to save some $ and make the most of your floral arrangements! Here you can see a welcome sign piece being reused for the bar.
It’s important to note however that not all arrangements can be reused easily. For example, a corner arbour piece is very difficult to remove and place on a table due to tricky angles. We will likely have to move things around, resulting in an extra labour charge and your table piece looking a little bit worse for wear. BUT! A floor piece can easily be reused at the base of any table without much editing involved. Signing table pieces can be reused as bridal table pieces or bar pieces etc. small aisle clouds can be used as centrepieces (as long as they don’t get damaged by weather in an outdoor ceremony) etc etc.
So, if you’re wanting floral items that can be moved to your reception, ask your florist about which types of arrangements are the easiest to do so!
Please note however, that a small extra labour charge will incur to stay back and move items for you, but often this is worth it!

I used to be afraid of making bridal bouquets. An arbour? No problem, a full suspended ceiling installation? Easy. But the bridal bouquet was always so much pressure. What if the bride doesn’t like it? I would spend way too much time overthinking every little stem. Thankfully, I’ve discovered the secret to a good bridal bouquet… CONFIDENCE! These days, bridals are my favourite part of creating wedding florals, and I don’t waste any time creating them. I’ve worked out my style and my formula (yep, I am a very methodical florist!), and now, it’s a breeze!

I can’t tell you how many blush and white rose bouquets I’ve made. Far too many in my opinion 😅
this was my take on a classic colour palette but with more texture and interest, and not an imported flower in sight! A unique twist on a classic bridal bouquet 🌸
It’s fun to trust your florist to create something that aligns with your vision, but also resembles their personal style. I can guarantee you’ll end up with something so beautiful and unique. Way better than getting the same bouquet as someone else in my opinion!

and ‘s wedding was hands down the most special wedding I have ever had the honour of creating the florals for. I have SO much I want to share from this special day, but I’ve decided to start with the bouquet shots. Jules’ wedding was classy to the max and her vision for white, blush and black florals with lots of texture was something I had never attempted before but I am so so so happy with how it all turned out.
And just look at her, is she not the most gorgeous bride you have EVER seen???

Hello flower friends!
I am so so stoked to announce that I have stepped into a new role as the Head Wedding Florist for the incredible in Byron Bay!
I have been travelling all over the place for the last 3 years from Byron to the Gold Coast working for various businesses and freelancing which has been so amazing, but I am so excited for this new season where I will be based solely in Byron and working with a beautiful business and team that aligns with my values.
Poppy and Fern are passionate about sustainable floristry practices which means we only use local and farm grown flowers and are completely foam free! This is something I have been hoping to embrace for so long so I am looking forward to everything that the new year holds!
This also means that I will no longer be taking on any weddings or freelance under my own name. I adore the relationships I have built in the industry and I hope to continue those relationships going forward. (I am putting together a local freelancer list so hit me up if you’re interested!) Every enquiry I receive will be referred directly to Poppy and Fern.

Eve loved the old style cracked paint look of this altar wall and didn’t want to cover up the natural charm of the church, so I suggested some simple chapel vines with a hint of cosmos to compliment, and I am just so stoked about how well it turned out!
