Flower School last day of class yesterday! My body is tired but my heart is full. So proud of my class that finishing up yesterday. As part of each of our 10 week career courses the last day is for creating designs in their own style and being photographed ready to put out into the world. Well it’s been a wet old week here in Byron! I get it, who wants to go outside when everything is cold, wet and soggy? Here’s a few jobs to keep you motivated and hopefully dry - Seed up, do a mass planting of things for the season ahead and really tend to your babies in the greenhouse. Give them a good feed and take notes on how well/not well they are germinating and advice for your future self for next year - Tidy and organise your greenhouse or shed. This is a crap job let’s face it! But it’s not going to happen when the weather is fine and your outstanding in your field (see what I did there 😉) So take some time to organise, get rid of anything that doesn’t need to be there, check your tools and fix or replace anything that needs replacing, just do a general tidy. Trust me the fresh energy this brings is totally worth it. - Plan! Sometimes when we are really in the thick of it we feel like nothings planned and we are struggling to stay on top of things. So pop on the kettle, take some time and sit down and think about how you want the year to look and then backwards map how you’re going to get there. (If you want more info on how we do this let me know and I’ll create a more in depth reel) - Rest! It’s ok to rest as well! Pouring rain outside? sleep in, cook and eat nutritious foods, look after yourself, visit friends. Fill up your cup so when it’s time to be back at it you feel refreshed and ready Good luck out there friends! Flower School - wedding and Events - week 3 Today was our first foam free suspended/hanging install which is always super exciting. We broke down all the tools and techniques into easer and achievable steps making the whole concept less overwhelming. We will develop and grow these skills throughout the remainder of the course so each student leaves confident and ready. Each week we also cover pricing and quotes, ingredients and recipe building, sourcing products, what you need in your tool kits, working with couples, venus and other vendors, creating and executing a timeline.
