‘A Journey’
An exploration of seven hearts and three materials.

These images capture the group installation created during the Advanced Ikebana & Installation Workshop in collaboration with and .marker.

Guided by Sandra’s thoughtful prompts and technical insights, participants engaged deeply with creative concepts, foraging practices, and collaborative design. Working with pandanus, Portea bromeliad, and weeping fig vine, the group transformed raw materials into a cohesive vision—an exploration of interconnected ideas, forms, and processes.

This work is a reflection of shared learning and the dialogue between material, maker, and environment.

Student work from our Advanced Ikebana and Installation Workshop with .marker and

This weekend was a shared journey into the art of arrangement, exploring the beauty of foraged and found botanicals. Each piece reflects a unique dialogue between material and maker, shaped by thoughtful techniques and the spirit of experimentation.

Participants from diverse backgrounds—architects, interior designers, a florist, and emerging floral artists—came together to deepen their creative practices. Guided by the principles of ikebana, we uncovered the quiet power of intentional placement and the unexpected harmony of nature’s forms.

It was a weekend of growth, connection, and discovery, reminding us of the infinite ways we can collaborate with the natural world.

“Flowers become human in ikebana.”
The heart of a person who arranges ikebana is reflected directly in that work, and ikebana becomes that person.
That’s why ikebana is infinitely wide and profound, liberated, and fun.
From the moment you want to express something with a piece of flower in your hand, a world of your own creation begins.
Always new, always beautiful ──”
