What is Auslan?
Auslan, the sign language of the Australian Deaf community, is interpreted live during performances by skilled Auslan theatre interpreters. Positioned beside the speaker or action, they translate the dialogue and text into Auslan, making the performance accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.

Developed in England, and popular throughout the UK, pantomime is a musical comedy stage production for a family audience. Pantomimes include song, dance, slapstick comedy, innuendo, gender-crossing actors, Christmas and fairy-tale themes and topical local humour. Pantomime is participatory and audiences are expected to sing along and shout out phrases during the show.
