How quickly can we get married?
This is a regular question from couples for a variety of reasons.

The answer is the same across all states and it’s just 1 month.
You must lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage with an authorised celebrant, no later than 1 month before the date of your wedding (but you can lodge it up to 18 months in advance).
You don’t have to have a date set when you lodge the NOIM.
You can change celebrants after lodging the NOIM
You don’t have to provide all your ID to lodge the NOIM (but you must provide them before the wedding).
You can even lodge your NOIM over Zoom if you live in Australia
You don’t have to be resident in Australia to get married here
