It was so beautiful to see a couple so wonderfully suited to one another and the phrase "marrying my best friend" could not be more apt for these two.

Nikita and Nicholas 22/10/2021

My final wedding for 2021 and what a wonderful way to celebrate it than with the Kurrimine Beach wedding of Nikita and Nicholas. At the front of the groom's parent's home which also happens to be the beach foreshore, they said "I do" in front of their closest family and friends.
Both keen fishers it was apt that the shoreline exploded with a huge school of bait just as the ceremony commenced. You couldn't have scripted it better.

When they talk about a postcard picture day they are describing the absolutely perfect weather the accompanied Shannon and Cailan's beautiful Ellis Beach wedding.
They shared their vows with each other and their closest family and friends in front of the magnificent Melaleuca tree that overlooks the beach and has been the backdrop for so many wedding days.

Gabii and Jack 19/10/2020

Gabii and Jack's Redlynch wedding was my last for 2020 and it was the perfect wedding to end my season.
To those of you who know Gabii, her personality precedes her and Jack has a dry sense of humour which compliments her perfectly.
To say it was a hoot working with these two is an understatement.

It is one of Sir David Attenborough's favourite places in the world and was the backdrop for Claire and Adam's beautiful elopement.
With their 2 beautiful children joining them it was as Intimate as a ceremony can get. Not another person in sight. Just us the sand, the sea and the sunshine.
My lovely wife accompanied me and was one of the witnesses along with Adam's sister which made it that much more special.

This was a wedding I was looking forward to for some time. Renee and Matt have a very similar background story to my wife and myself knowing very early in their relationship that they were meant for each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
As I said in their ceremony, their relationship was 'written in the stars' and their complete engagement in their ceremony was a delight to see. It was an absolute pleasure to officiate their special day.

Alinta and Richard 14/08/2021

What a day this was. With COVID restrictions in place and rain threatening their outside ceremony, it ended up being plan C at the beautiful Laloli Garden. The Sugar Shed became the venue for Alinta and Richard's wonderful ceremony. With their immediate family by their sides and the remaining guests enjoying from a COVID safe distance, their were tears, laughs and a very happy couple.
It was a privilege to marry this beautiful couple and I wish them all the happiness for their future together.

Happy anniversary to this wonderful couple who celebrated their wedding at a private family property at Feluga.
It was a beautiful October day when, with their immediate families joining them, they exchanged their vows and became husband and wife.
It was a great country feel wedding with the cattle in the background and even the iconic cane train making its presence felt just at time I pronounced them husband and wife.

Happy anniversary to this beautiful couple. Who would have thought that we would still be under the same restrictions now as we were last year.
We were so fortunate to have an easing of restrictions so that we were able to celebrate Jessika and Rhys' wedding at the wonderful Malanda Lodge.
When you have a couple who are so invested in their relationship it makes it a joy for me to able to marry them. The whole process with these two was easy, fun and enjoyable.

Ashlyn & Tye - Cape York 7th August
Sometimes a wedding comes along that you know will hold that something special. We were so fortunate to spent a weekend with this wonderful couple in one of the most breathtaking parts of our country.
The logistics of putting a wedding like this together in the middle of nowhere is a challenge but the fantastic efforts of family and friends made it look easy.
Overlooking a beautiful waterhole, Ashlyn and Tye exchanged their vows to the delight of everyone gathered.
This will definitely be one to look back on in the years to come.

Loretta and I thank everyone for their hospitality, special thanks to Colin and Beth Hughes from Highbury Station for letting us share their property and everbody for the great company. We wish Ashlyn and Tye all the very best for their future together.

Donald and Sally 22/07/2021

COVID nearly nearly created another casualty but with a day to spare Donald and Sally were able to make their way to the Alamanda Chapel at Palm Cove with their family and special friends to celebrate their magic day.
And what a magic day it was. Our interstate guests were treated to not only a perfect FNQ winter's day but we were all so fortunate to be regaled with the beautiful sounds of the bagpipes to celebrate the groom's Scottish heritage.

It was a proud day for me for marry Jess and Luke at the Billabong in Kuranda. I have known Jess and Luke since they were both very young and have been so fortunate to witness and share their love story develop over the years along with their families and friends.
To be able to marry two young people that are almost as close to you as your own is a privilege and an honour and in my own way, I was able to share in the pride that the bride and grooms parents were feeling also.
Jess and Luke's mums taking part in the Sand Ceremony was also a special moment.
These weddings for me are unforgettable.

Alana and Adam 28/05/2021

The backdrop of Ellis Beach is always spectacular and yesterday's wedding was again a testament to that. Beach weddings are beautiful but can sometimes be a challenge for all involved. With the wind blowing at a solid 20-25 knots before the ceremony, I thought the wind noise in the microphone, the wind flipping my pages over and the signing of the documents were going to be a problem.
Now whether you call it divine intervention or Mother Nature being caught up in the celebration, the wind dropped down to next to nothing at the very moment Alana made her way down the aisle.
It was as though the moment was scripted.
It made for a perfect ceremony and a very happy couple.

Happy 1st anniversary to Lisa and Foua. Theirs was one of my early COVID weddings when there was a limit of only 10 people but that didn't detract from their wedding being as special and memorable as any other. With their wedding having to be postponed last year due to COVID, nothing was going to stop Alexandra and Dale saying "I do" this time around. With all their original vendors coming together it was a wonderful day at the beautiful Laloli garden. I love to work with my couples to make their special day as memorable as possible and it all came together perfectly. A special moment is when we acknowledge and say a special thank you to the parents of the bride and groom. It is a lovely addition and a chance to involve the parents in the ceremony.
I thank Alexandra and Dale for giving me the privilege of being a part of their wedding day and I wish them a long a happy life together.

Being a Gordonvale boy it was such a pleasure to be able to perform the wedding of Kent and Janelle in my hometown and you can't get any more Gordonvale than with the magnificent Walsh's Pyramid in the background.
With their beautiful children and grandchildren their to help them celebrate it was such a wonderful family affair.
With a keen interest in fishing helping to bring these two together it was a perfect catch for them both and one to go on the brag board.

The rain was threatening but held off for the take two wedding of Sharnii and Brandon at Savina's farm at Freshwater. Someone was smiling down on them as the skies cleared and it ended being a perfect day. I had been looking forward to this wedding since their original 2020 date was thwarted by COVID and nothing was going to stop this wedding happening in 2021.
Sharnii and Brandon are such a beautiful young and couple and so in love, which was confirmed in some of the most beautiful and romantic vows I have heard (Mills and Boon eat your heart out).

With Melissa from Perfect Moments being the mother of the bride, the setting was picture perfect and added such a magnificent backdrop to a magnificent day.

Sometimes the opportunity presents itself to do something off-the-cuff that the bride and groom don't expect. These impromptu moments can add a personal touch to make the ceremony ever the more memorable. I had a lot of fun working with Abbie and Ben to make their wedding as fun and as special as it could possibly be.
