In Melbourne for the last week with a final meeting tomorrow … and then what a surprise Paul Lancaster Qld State Manager Yutong sends me a couple of beautiful pics this morning of our new Yutong C12 in pre delivery mode in their Brisbane factory. This coach is identical to the first one they delivered 12 months ago. Coral Expeditions signals the start of the cruise ship season. This morning busy at Cairns Wharf with the Coral Expedition transfers which we are now into our 6th year with them. They run a very unique cruise itinerary particularly around PNG. Highly recommended.

US Army Crew on a Cairns stopover. Aircraft is a US Army GS550. We attended to the crew transfer and was a great way to start the day.

On Monday the depot was empty except for the Maserati and BMW. The 53 and the 28 seat coaches were allocated to the Airport. Busy day and great start to the month.

Melbourne is the food capital of Aus. Motor Vehicle wise we actually enjoyed Mercedes, Toyota, Alphard (import) and some prestige lots with Ferrari, Rolls Royce and obviously Maserati. Then off to Crown Casino for a meeting with our good friend from Jetpro (Private jet charters). Great weekend but back to work tomorrow.

Just an update …. Dragon has had a strong year to date. Our fleet replacement plan is well underway. A further 53 seat fully optioned coach has been ordered from VDI (Yutong) with delivery later this year. Operationally we should have around 20 vehicles available in all configuration types by Xmas. We are basically a one stop shop for limousines, people movers, sprinters and luxury coaches !

USAF crew transfers airside - invited on board by the Aircraft Commander. This Aircraft is a 707 BUILT in 1958 with aerial refueling capability. The boom at the rear of the aircraft lowers to refuel aircraft of various configurations including B52’s. A big thank you to USAF.

Very fortunate to transfer some Corporate folks up to the Barron Gorge this morning to inspect the hydro electric operations. No photos of the facilities and no noticeable damage but some beautiful photos north and south of the gorge from the access bridge. Water from the flood hit the bottom support beams of the bridge - that’s high ! The water from here ended up flowing out on to the Barron River delta - 3rd photo.

Attended the TTNQ briefing this morning on the Cruise Ship Market. Entertaining and informative address by the Minister for Tourism Michael Healy MP. Tourism Tropical North Queensland Queensland Government 87 cruise ships are due in the next season which starts around September. The economic impact is substantial.

Down at Tropic Wings Cairns Tours today for the handover from David Green from VDI. The windscreen has a blemish so they’re replacing it. Nothing is too much trouble for David. Our Maserati Quattroporte limo flagship was part of the proceedings.

Our new Coach 53 Yutong C12 with signage and extras fitted as well as a 7 camera video system. The purchase included a 5 year warranty which was an inclusion that was virtually impossible for us to ignore when combined with the Cairns Service Centre for Yutong at ABC Sales and Maintenance - the deal was done. A special thank you to Mr David Green of VDI (Yutong) for his outstanding support, service and patience.

Cooktown …. 4th trip in a week. Road isn’t too bad but care required. Utilising 53 and 14 seat vehicles. 340 klms north of Cairns on the Mulligan Highway.
