If you are after a destination wedding it doesn't come any better then the beach at Palm Cove. It was picture perfect for last Saturday's wedding.

This gorgeous beach setting at Yorkeys Knob just north of Cairns was where Marika and TJ exchanged their wedding vows on Tuesday. It is such a pretty spot and the weather was perfect - if a little hot! Their ceremony was, as always, beautifully arranged by Palm Cove Weddings

Let's start the year of flowers off correctly with the beautiful carnation. It's my absolute favourite, especially if it has some scent. The dark red carnations convey love and affection, similar to the dark red rose, and a light red carnation symbolises admiration. White carnations are for purity, pink for gratitude and thankfulness and green for good fortune. With a mixed bunch of these gorgeous flowers you'd be all set to have every avenue covered I reckon, especially if they are in your wedding bouquet. #nqcelebrations #cairnscelebrant #celebrant #cairnswedding

Here’s some beautiful poinsettias as today is National Poinsettia Day. Who knew?? The 12th of December was first declared as National Poinsettia Day by the American Congress in 2002. I think it is well worth celebrating all around the world, and I have chosen the poinsettia as my flower for December. This plant is also known as the Christmas star, so is a very appropriate one to use during December, and would make amazing florals for your Christmas wedding. It comes in several colours, with red being the main one, but also in orange, cream, pink, white and even purple. #nationalpoinsettiaday #nqcelebrations #cairnscelebrant #celebrant #christmaswedding

The gorgeous wattle is my flower for September. It grows right across Australia and is a symbol of unity, joy and remembrance, and is actually the floral emblem for Australia. Today is Wattle Day, the first day of Spring, and it has been a national day of celebration since the early 1900s. Sprigs of wattle look amazing in bouquets, and bring lots of colour.
