The ATO have called me today asking for my help to distribute this information and get people to partipate in the WEBINAR tomorrow.

Directly below is some information that includes a link to details on the ATO website on how to prepare the NFP self-review return and a link to information on accessing and lodging the NFP self-review return. Following that, I have included the latest version of the monthly newsletter, Not-for-profit news, which also includes information on the NFP self-review return.

The ATO is hosting a webinar on Thursday 22 August 2024 at 1:30pm AEST to provide participants the opportunity to learn more about lodging the NFP self-review return and how the ATO can support their NFP; a link to register for this webinar is also included in the below issue of Not-for-profit news. Please share this information with any Indigenous organisations, individuals who are associated with an Indigenous organisation and anyone else you think would benefit from the information for NFPs on the ATO website &/or who may benefit from attending the webinar on 22 August.

Does your organisation need to lodge an NFP self-review return?
Non-charitable not-for-profit (NFP) organisations with an active Australian business number (ABN) self-assessing as income tax exempt must lodge their first NFP self-review for the 2023-24 income year.

You can now access and lodge the NFP self-review return in Online services for business or a registered tax agent can lodge the return on behalf of your NFP in Online services for agents. If you can’t access Online services for business, you can submit your NFP self-review return using our Self-help phone service.

If you need to lodge the NFP self-review return, use our return guide to prepare your answers and check that you have all the information needed for lodgement.

I am feeling VERY proud as I have lost 60kgs !!!

It's a hard journey, getting up at 4.30-5.00am at least 4 mornings per week to exercise in the dark and cold ... but the results are worth it! The difference in my looks, confidence, over 20 months is phenomenal!!!

Never in my life would I have dreamed of weighing just 65kgs, being a size 8-10 or fitting into SMALL business pants.

It has been a great personal reward to come back to Cairns, hug my daughter Chāntelle Seymour, her partner Cameron Winbank and my grandbabies, spend time with Paul Gear, meet with our many Indigenous clients face to face, and be sitting working in my own Cairns Business Hub that we proudly established 6 years ago.

Today I had the amazing opportunity of inteviewing 5 x Olympian and OAM Natalie Cook to provide inspiration and motivation to the 2,800 members of my company Australian Women in Business.

I met Natalie last week at a business event in Brisbane, along with several other highly successful Athletes. As is true Petina style, the excitement of being part of an auction, saw my company raise $750 through bidding for a large, autographed Boxing Kangaroo to help young Indigenous BMX Athlete Holyee Jackson ... even more exciting was bidding against Matt Hinge who ended up also winning a Boxing Kangaroo through his competitive bidding of $750 = $1500 rasised for the Athletes through 2 bright yellow Boxing Kangaroos that represent the fighting spirit of Australians.

Nat's mission now is raising financial support through donations, challenges and events for our Athletes and Olympians to assist them in their excessive costs to travel to and participate in the Games.

URGENT - SMALL BUSINESS GRANT - BUSINESS BOOST GRANT - $10,000-$20,000

The Business Boost grants assist small businesses to enhance their efficiency and productivity.
Funded businesses are expected to:
1. boost turnover, profit and employment
2. increase business confidence and skills
3. enhance the business's efficiency and productivity
4. improve business resilience and survivability.
This support includes funded activities in 3 project areas:
1. Future planning
2. Specialised and automated software
3. Planning and systems for staff management and development.
Successful applicants must equally co-contribute towards the total project cost.

Opening: Stage 1: Registration of interest (ROI) - 9am, Monday 24 June 2024
Closing: Stage 1: Registration of interest (ROI) - 5pm, Friday 5 July 2024

Eligibility
To be eligible for this grant, your business must meet the following criteria at the time of application submission:
• have more than 1 and less than 20 employees (by headcount)
• be operating and have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
• be registered for GST
• have a registered Queensland headquarters location (as per your Australian Business Register (ABR) record)
• be established and financially sound
• experiencing growth, with a gross profit in the 2023-24 financial year
• have a turnover of $300,000 (minimum) in the 2023-24 financial year
• have a publicly accessible web presence to identify business operations (e.g. business website, social media pages)
• not have been approved for funding under earlier Business Boost rounds
• not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are an undischarged bankrupt.
Your business must maintain this eligibility for the duration of the grant-funded activity.

Janice has worked for me for over a year now and has managed all aspects of my multiple social media accounts. In particular, Janice has been responsible for managing and growing Australian Women In Business from 1100 members to now 2800 in just 12 months without any paid ads.

It is has been a week full of learning ... COACHING IS NOT A COST, IT'S AN INVESTMENT!!!

Every month for my entire career, I have always undetaken an average of 15 hours personal and professional development.

Participating in workshops, attending events, undertaking mentoring or coaching with specialist advisors, providing pro-bono Board or Advisory Committee services.

This week, I participated in Strategic Growth workshops with Leaders, attended multiple industry events, and yesterday attended a day of workshops and connectivity with JT Foxx.
