Hi everyone,
As promised, I am updating you all on a current project.

Flowers and pets have always been one of my two loves in life.
After researching, long hours and crunching numbers, I decided to take a leap of faith and hit the ground running.

A few months ago, I started House of Mikoda. Now, yes it's very different to floristry, and floristry will always be a trade I have up my sleeve. But! This new adventure is just as exciting.

It's a little boutique pet empawrium, based online, and I will be attending lots of markets here in town and on the outskirts.

I stock products such as; harnesses, bowties, leads, le sh bags, Aussie made treats, Pawsecco & Kitticino's plus more!

Brands such as Pawfect Pals, Holly & Co. Rover Pet Products, L'Barkery, Big & Little Dogs and Doggytopia just to name a few.
Don't forget the Kitties, I also have items purrrfect for Felines.

Although I miss Floral Frontier like you wouldn't believe, the universe lead me on a different path and without the support from all of you, I wouldn't have had the courage to keep on going.

My first market stall will be at the Doggy Gala Day tomorrow at Bicentennial Park. There will be market stalls, competitions, and the best thing is: you can bring your pooch down and interact (on a lead ofcourse).

During the past few years, I have celebrated with you. I have grieved with you. I have been grateful with you. I have wished someone well with you, and I have been lost for words with you.
During the past few years, we have seen sickness, feuds between countries, homelessness, and financial crisis.
This year, many small businesses have had no choice but to walk away from their passion, their livelihood, in order to mentally function daily. The lack of sleep, the constant worry, the bills piling up, the 3 months overdue rent, the exhaustion it puts on your family, let alone the constant fear within yourself.
My head has only just been above water for the past 3 months. The uncertainty of an income has taken its toll. My little family has seen me upset over the smallest things and it's really hard to keep a brave face all of the time.
These days, flowers are a luxury, not a necessity. Something in which I can relate to, massively. I have absorbed more than half of the costs this year. Stock has been wasted purely because flowers are a perishable item.
For the past few weeks, I have taken all of this into consideration. I have absolutely no choice but to part ways with my passion, my love for flowers, and my trade. My little family deserve to see their Mumma smiling, not worrying.
As of the 1st of July, I will pack my snips away. I will clean my buckets for the last time and I will turn off my fridges. The weddings booked for September will be my last.
This is not an easy decision, and please dont think I have given up. This is simply prioritising what really matters right now.
I thank you. Each and every one of you. The people who liked my posts, made an order, wished me luck, and spread the word, all of the things this supportive community has given.
Before it becomes too sad, I want to say this: I appreciate everything all of you have given me during this journey, and I will be forever grateful.
