No electricity
๐โก๏ธ We are now one of the 47,000+ Tasmanians with no electricity. On the UP side:
* we have a gas stove so we can cook,
* none of us have to use electrical medical devices,
* we donโt have any babies or small children,
* we are not elderly,
* we have no damage to our home or property.
We are the lucky ones, some Tasmanians are doing it VERY tough. Special thoughts to them.
๐ THANK YOU to Tas Network employees who are out there trying to fix things. We will be patient.
๐ THANK YOU to all the emergency services doing your best to keep us safe.
๐ THANK YOU to all medical professionals who would be feeling the extra strain on services.
Today in the cold, rain, wind and even HAIL Gavin Merrington & his team from Original Stained Glass https://www.originalstainedglass.com.au/ are removing Church windows and installing safety clear glass windows. WOW what a job as the windows have NO FRAMES, they are imbedded into the building. See more videos for details.
They also removed and restored our main stain glass windows and they are FANTASTIC! We are so lucky to work with great people!๐

Today marked the completion of another task: a post and rail fence now neatly divides the southern, private end of the property from the larger, northern end, designated for weddings, events, and festivals.
Graham and Darcy Back from Digging in the Dirt rural fencing contractors did an outstanding job. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ them for their meticulous attention to detail, swift and precise work, their pleasant demeanor, great to deal with and reasonable pricing. Graham is obviously analytical and intelligent, plus thoughtful with his works and suggestions. A perfect 10/10.
They will return tomorrow to construct a sizable three-bay compost area. They are indeed versatile and skilled builders!โป๏ธ
Another big step forward. What is it? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Great job Tas Freight, great operator. All unloaded safely and expertly. ๐
๐ง๏ธ Look at this beautiful, crazy gardener/owner/hubby - planting MORE trees in the pouring rain! ANDโฆheโs staying out there to do โone moreโ!!!! No motivation issues at our place ๐๐คฃ๐ฅฐ
9am and itโs still zero degrees โ๏ธ, but the sun is shining ๐and we have the cleanest air going around ๐จ
Winter is true season here in Tassie and just as glorious as the other 3 seasons, all in different ways. Nothing off about โThe Off Seasonโ.

It's RAINING its pouring, hope the farmer are rejoincing!
Lovely to see so much REAL rain here in Campbell Town after such a dry summer.
One of the last stain glass pieces going in! It looks INCREDIBLE!!
The restoration has turned this cracked, smashed, warped, collapsing piece of history into now a perfectly restored and installed masterpiece to be enjoyed by all for letโs hope another 100+ years.
Iโm in awe of Gavin Merrington & his clever off sider from Original Stained Glass Hobart. Well done gents on your attention to detail and to keeping history alive.
Scotch Thistle pattern on our biscuits & pastries, keeping with our Scottish theme.
The Scotch Thistle is Scotlands National Flower, yes, their National flower is a weed. If you think thatโs odd, their national animal is a Unicorn (a completely made-up fantasy animal) and their National dish is Haggis (offal).
Scotch thistle is also a common WEED in the Tasmanian midlands.
So why not let that weed decorate our food ๐คฃ๐
