A big BIG thanks to everyone who reached out with offers of their Sarahmony videos! It was actually so nice reliving those gorgeous days (once I got over the trauma of hearing my own voice on loop, of course). So, here’s a little snippet from Steph and Griff’s day (shared with permission with thanks to @gccvisuals_weddings ). My notorious go-to flex is storytelling through rhyme, but here’s another way I can get creative with your meet-cute. While these two didn’t actually have diaries, their “entries” were inspired by all the gold from their Lovers’ Questionnaires. And we ended with a star-studded cameo from baby Abigail, right on cue! Understandably, many people think Celebrants get paid a sh*te load just to show up on your wedding day and speak for 20 mins... lol To become a Registered Civil Marriage Celebrant you have to complete a Certificate IV in Celebrancy through a registered training organisation. For me, this meant six months of study, five modules, a million assessments and eight (very hilarious) mock ceremonies. Then you have to apply to the AG’s department, pay a fee and successfully answer a series of legal questions about marriage law and process. Following this, being a Celebrant means: 🤓 5 hours of ongoing professional development each year (training I pay for) 💰 an annual fee to remain registered 📖 countless hours writing and perfecting ceremonies 📞 being on call and available to my couples at any hour of every day 💞spending time getting to know couples 🚘 driving, so much driving (travelling to and from meetings, wedding locations and rehearsals) ⏰ arriving at your ceremony early to set up and settle your guests in ☀️ working on weekends 🎤 a top notch professional PA system 📝 preparation and lodgement of legal paperwork 💸 insurance costs 🔑membership costs to network with Australia’s best and most experienced celebrants 📚 creating and maintaining my resource kit, website, CRMs... the list goes on. But do I absolutely love every single part of being a love hustler!? You bet, I DO!
