I had the pleasure of attending a workshop on sustainable floral wreaths by the talented Narelle of and last Saturday. The result was an attractive and robust wreath made from compostable materials - hessian, string, damp moss and dried grapevine wrapped in fresh leaves and adorned with locally grown flowers. How beautiful are these people? In all the best ways. The best clients I could have wished for and so great together - truly a joy to be around.

Kate and Jayden purchased a bunch of flowers from us at the market one weekend and casually enquired if we did weddings. Well, we didn’t then, but thanks to their encouragement and enthusiasm we do now! [They were one of two couples we met that weekend and the other couple are getting married in a couple of weeks - I just can’t wait to do their flowers too]. 🤗

Kate and Jayden had an idea of what they wanted - all white, low key and elegant (which suits their personality beautifully) but their first flower choices were not seasonally available, so we worked together to find an alternative. That was the most enjoyable part of the process for me - getting to know them.

They were married in Bowral in a garden ceremony in September.

Thank you and for taking the leap of faith in engaging me as your very inexperienced and (at the time) unqualified wedding florist. It was a great experience.

October winds are a drama in Canberra and today they caused the market organisers to declare the market unsafe. Unfortunately, we were already on site 😕. Such is life! If you’re local and interested in a $25 bunch or $55 bucket please let me know. 🙃

My most reliable bloomer Pope John Paul II - resurrected (the bush, not the man!!!) after a hard start to the season due to the possums and rosellas.
