Two Tarts - who's the second one? It's a question I get asked a lot. It's my beautiful mum Terese. She's no longer with us in person, but always with me in spirit, especially when I cook.

Mum was a fantastic cook. She could take the most humble ingredients and turn it into something incredible. I got my love for cooking and for sharing food from mum. We always dreamt of starting a little cafe or catering business together. It was going to be called Two Tarts. Mum would be so happy that I made it happen; that I'm pursuing our passion. She's my inspiration. She's my guardian tart.

One of her signature dishes was sticky date pudding This week I decided to make it as a tribute to mum ❤️

People from the surrounding local communities (eg Goolmangar, Keerong, Blakebrook, Coffee Camp, Jiggi, Koonorigan) are invited to a get together this Friday at Goolmangar Hall for an evening of talks, flood mapping, music and of course food.

There will be talks from the Red Cross, DPI Support Services, SES and Local Land Services discussing soils post flood.

And I'll be serving up a delicious dinner with meatballs in tomato sauce, honey mustard chicken, cheesy potato bake and Tuscan veg and bean stew. Plus some yummy treats. GF, vegan catered for.

All free, put in by Lismore Shire Council.

The evening starts at 5.30.
