Fun Fact Friday
We’re all familiar with this document - it’s mandatory to provide to our couples.

As we know, Celebrants aren’t Counsellors but we can definitely point couples in the right direction to services that are available to couples and families.
For those who attended Relationships Australia Zoom, we went away armed with some great tips when providing the “Happily Ever, Before and After” brochure.
Every relationship can do better - after all getting married means you want it to last.
The great thing about Counselling is that it’s available for building healthy relationships not just repairing them.

We want to help you take action with planning for your future.

One of the first steps is to start by capturing your choices in writing. Seek a lawyer to write a will, enduring guardian and financial or legal documents to secure your specific needs.

Fun Fact Friday
Back to basics
The couples' signature on the day of the wedding is the name they are legally and currently known as and should closely resemble the signature on the NOIM.
One or both can legally change their name to their partners, once they are legally married and the registered certificate has been received.

FUN FACT FRIDAY!

Did you know…

In Australia, you can get married in any place, at any time of any day. Your marriage will be registered in the state/territory that the marriage takes place.

Whilst marriages in aircrafts and on ships can happen, the AGD Marriage Guidelines suggests that they should be avoided.

What is the meaning of a red door?

Welcome ❤️
A red door means “welcome” in an old early American tradition. If a family had a red front door tired travellers travelling by horse and buggy would know that a home was a welcoming place to rest. They would be able to spend the night there.

A red door provides protection.

Throughout history, a red door determined an invitation. It shows everyone that the owner and his family are friendly to visitors and prepared to offer a warm meal and shelter from bad weather and other troubles.

On the other hand, many people enjoy red and paint their front door into this warm colour because it is beautiful.

LEGAL FACT FRIDAY:

Did you know….

If you are currently legally married (to your current or a previous partner), it is an offence to have a second legal ceremony. You must legally end that marriage (divorce or death) before you can enter into a new marriage.

Example: A couple plan to have a legal Balinese Wedding and then back to Australia plan to have a 2nd legal ceremony so their family can attend.... this is not allowed.

Instead you can hold one legal ceremony (in either place) and then have a Vow Renewal Ceremony or a Commitment Ceremony in the other location...

Note: at the second non legal ceremony, your celebrant must make it clear to all your guests that what they are witnessing is not a legal marriage ceremony.

Another Note: getting legally married in Australia before you head O/S for your non legal destination ceremony will make things a lot easier for you back in Australia when you want to apply for a copy of your official marriage certificate.
