🎵THROW YOUR TENDRILS AROUND ME🎵
Harvesters & Collectors Choir @viticulture_australia
We thought we'd share with you a very special project that's close to our hearts. This musical ode, is a loved-up twist on iconic Aussie band, Hunters & Collectors classic...Throw Your Arms Around Me. You may have also noticed a few familiar Oakridge faces/ voices in the mix!
@viticulture_australia was started by Oakridge Senior Vitilculturist @stevedfaulkner with the aim of building community and supporting mental health, particularly of our viti folk, but also others around us. There a lot of people doing it tough at the moment and the mental health impact has been far reaching ❤️
So wherever you are, throw your tendrils around each other, ask “how you doing?”, have a chat, have a laugh, make an effort to catch up and support each other!
You can also support Viticulture Australia and BUY A VINTAGE T-SHIRT, the shop will remain open until SEPTEMBER 30! Link below! 👕

At Oakridge, sustainability is one of our top priorities in the vineyard. Our overarching philosophy is to manage our vineyards in a way that will allow the next generation to inherit the land and our environment in a pristine state. Oakridge Chief Winemaker, David Bicknell shares his insights on how Oakridge has prioritised sustainable vineyard management.
Our newest release is the 2021 vintage of our Vineyard Series Chardonnay range - from the Willowlake, Hazeldene and Henk vineyard sites.
These are classic single vineyard Yarra Valley style wines: with line, length, purity (of fruit) and balance. All three chardonnays are exceptional (and the critics agree... with ratings of 95 and 96 points across them all!).

Asado by Oakridge is back as part of the annual Wine Yarra Valley Fireside Festival, and we cannot wait!
After selling out twice last year (but alas, not going ahead due to the dreaded 'L' word). we're proud to put it back on the map this year.
This dinner showcases the traditional Argentinian Asado style of cooking over coals, but with a distinctly Yarra Valley flavour, as we celebrate our region’s amazing producers.
The evening will be culinary celebration of winter in the Yarra Valley, with the menu highlighting Oakridge Executive Chef Aaron Brodie’s hyper-local approach to cooking, showcasing the season’s bounty from the kitchen garden and his favourite local producers.
Enjoy an indulgent four-course menu created by Executive Chef, Aaron Brodie, including whole butterflied Yeringberg lamb, dry-aged Springbrook beef and housemade morcilla cooked over a traditional Asado firepit. Paired (of course) to a curated selection of our award-winning reds – including wines sourced from the cellar, specially for the evening.

Summer is for skinsies! Our skin-fermented garden wines are tasty companions for picnics in the park, long lunches and dinners at dusk.
From left: 2020 Sauvage Garden (sauvignon blanc); and 2020 Garden Gris (pinot gris). These wines were naturally fermented on skins for two months, then pressed to old French oak for an additional two months before being racked and bottled with no filtration.

“All the chardonnays in the Vineyard Series are made identically, so capturing the essence of the place is paramount. This is so good. Flinty, fine, citrusy, long and pure. An ethereal style, yet so much going on. It's hard to pick a favourite in this range. They are all expressive. Today it's Willowlake, tomorrow … who knows?”
~ Jane Faulkner, tasting our 2019 Vineyard Series Willowlake Chardonnay in the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion, 96 points.

"Five Local Vineyard Series chardonnays this vintage, including this off a north-facing site at Gladysdale. Alas a one-off for Oakridge, who managed to secure fruit from this highly regarded site. A lot of depth across the palate, a richness with grilled nuts and creamy lees making an impression into poached quince and citrus flavours. A hint of toasty oak, and a lemon bath salts sensation to the acidity. Great energy and drive." ~ Jane Faulkner, @winecompanion
Cherish a taste of this one-off chardonnay while you can. It's the 2019 Vineyard Series Prices Rd Chardonnay, rated 95 points in the 2022 Halliday Wine Companion.
