In the flicker of an eye 20 years have passed since the birth of Flax Flower.

Having moved to the Sunshine Coast via New Zealand and Melbourne Flax was born in a small cottage in Nambour, then a small retail space in Nambour, focusing mainly on weddings and events in the hinterland, the Hyatt and Novotel.

Coolum was the next move into a large retail space on Birtwill St. Closer to the beach. This was our home for 10 years until our move to a warehouse space on Greenoaks Drive. This move proved to be a good one given the challenges that then followed thanks to COVID.

Reaching twenty years in business is a significant milestone worth celebrating. These years have been filled with joy, many laughs, sweat, tears, passion and a good dollop of steely determination.

I am so proud of the achievements of all of the Flax Flower crew, past and present. It has been a joy to work alongside such skills, creative talents along the way. It has been a true team effort and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

On reflection, although 20 years older and aching in parts where I haven’t ached before I’m ready and pumped for the next 20!!

Thank you to all of our local and loyal customers - we couldn’t have done it without you!
