But it is stable, long term, and not going to be miniaturised, digitised, outsourced, or replaced by robots or AI any time soon.

Hire A Loo is a portable toilet hire company with over 600+ portable loos, and they need a thorough cleanup when they pass back through our yard.

Our ‘Senior Poologist’, as he calls himself, can no longer do it all on his own, and needs an offsider.

Here's the details:

Portaloo Cleaning:
- Pump out any remaining waste in the portable loo,
- Pressure wash, scrub and clean it free of dirt, mud, graffiti, and waste,
- Maintain a clean working area with chemicals in appropriate locations and labels, and
- Move the loos into storage areas using one of our 3 forklifts (more on this later).

General Cleaning
- Keep the warehouse tidy,
- Cleaning the exterior of our office building, and
- Detailing our fleet (direction will be provided).

About You:
Our ideal candidate is an organised and detail orientated individual with commercial cleaning experience. They must demonstrate the following:
- A mature approach to Workplace Safety, for yourself and others,
- A pro-active and self-motivated approach,
- Can-do attitude, and ability to work in a team,
- Reliable and punctual,
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products and equipment, and
- Permanent work rights.

Desirable skills and qualifications:
- High Risk Work License - Forklift (we would help a solid worker obtain this), and
- HR Truck License (not mandatory).

Hours of Work
We are projecting 24 hours a week between the days of Tuesday-Thursday.

We are seeking a Service Truck Driver to operate out of our Sunshine Coast depot at Coolum Beach, to service loos and holding tanks, and make deliveries and pickups throughout our service region.

This is initially a casual position, with a projected average of 45 hours per week - the hours will vary according to our business needs and could be a lot more some weeks, and less others.

By no later than 12 months of employment, a keeper would be offered the option to become permanent at the same pay rate.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Servicing portable toilets to our high standards
• Delivering and collecting portable toilets
• Waste removal from holding tanks and septic tanks
• Preparing loos in our yard for delivery to site
Suitable candidates will need the following:
• Must hold a minimum of MR Class of Licence (a driving assessment will be undertaken prior to any job offer being made, 2 years of experience required)
• Must have a clean driving licence
• Must have a forklift licence
• White card
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Good knowledge of Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Scenic Rim areas
• Willingness to work
• Flexibility with work hours
• Previous toilet hire company experience would be a bonus.

Over the years, we have dealt with hundreds of events, large and small, from sporting events to festivals to local community events. Whatever the event, we get the Job Done in collaboration with event organisers so that every event is remembered for everything but the loos!

Are you our Maintenance and Fleet Specialist?

o 8 Trucks (Hino 500 x 2 & 300 series x 1/Isuzu FSR 120-140s x 3/an Isuzu 110-240/and a little Fuso).

o Our fleet includes custom built, industry leading vacuum tankers, and in-house built crane trucks, most new within the last 18 months.

o 3 forklifts, (2.5t, 1.5t, and 4WD).

o 13 trailers - big, little, and in between.

o A target of 8 working small engines (and plenty of graveyard ones to be sorted out too).

o Hydraulically driven vacuum and water pumping equipment.

o Relationships with a fantastic mobile diesel fitter, local welder, and various Sunshine Coast and Queensland based suppliers.

o Multiple projects in various stages of near-completion that when complete will significantly elevate our operational capacity.

Help!

We're looking for a hands-on, multi talented specialist who will take charge of our near-complete and yet to be started truck equipment projects, in addition to organising fleet repairs, maintenance, servicing, and inspections, and be hands on with existing truck equipment repairs.

While taking on theses tasks and projects, you will also take ownership of our workshop, to transform it into a highly functional and organised space. A budget will be available for tool organisation and storage solutions, along with filling gaps in our current tooling and workshop equipment (subject to demonstrable need).

We already have systems in place for tracking truck and forklift issues, and for service reminders, we just need you to manage and/or resolve them.

You will be flexible enough to be an ‘on call’ driver for our larger events, and to cover our truck driving team when needed, so an MR Licence and Forklift ticket are essential.

In order to have access to all of the vehicles, Saturdays will be part of your working week, with another day of the week off instead.

This position will commence as casual and become full time, permanent and long term for the right person with the right work attittude and skills.

Skills & Experience

o Truck license - MR, HR or MC including a clear driving history, free of major infringements (past 5 years)

o High Risk Work License - Forklift

o Mechanical ability including the ability to repair small engines, water pumps, vacuum pumps and co-ordinate external suppliers for major repairs as needed.

o Fair computer skills: targeted web searches for finding problem fixes and suppliers as needed, handling email correspondence.

o A dedication to having a super-organised and equipped workshop.

o Commitment to getting the job done so that the fleet stays on the road.

We’re hiring!

Do you want to suck it and see?

This job ain't sexy.

And it ain't for everyone.

And we don't entirely know how to sell it to you: we could focus on the recession proof nature of parts of our work, so stability for you, or the variety in each day, or the pay, or the new trucks in our fleet.

So, we thought we'd suggest you 'Suck it and see'. There's a pun in there.

The job is driving one of our fleet of vacuum pumper trucks (some with vehicle loading cranes, some without) using your minimum MR truck licence and local area knowledge to visit 20-30+ of our portable toilets in a day, pump them out, clean them, restock them, and move on to the next one.

Not sexy at all.

But, it's a stable job that will survive any potential recession, and if we have enough drivers, we can be very flexible on when you work and when you don't.
We can help you get a forklift ticket if you're a keeper, and we can give you vehicle loading crane training and experience (no ticket required).

It's a surprising job: some people love the varied runs every day and the getting to see every part of the Sunshine Coast, and Gympie and Moreton Bay.
Or the interacting with many different people each day (or not, you can do this job on a get-in-and-get-out basis for many of our sites, but it is probably better for everyone if you're a little bit social).

Some people just like getting a lot of hours and good pay.

When the job converts to permanent (once you're happy and we're happy you're a keeper, at least 6 months in, and no more than 12 months), the rate stays the same and you add all the paid leave and public holiday benefits.

Our current business is being split into two parts, and one of the two parts, the action part, the bit that services customer needs, could (and should) be shared with the team: I believe that part would take off, and make the people involved very engaged, and successful, in the process.

What work is available?

Our immediate requirement is for more service truck drivers, to be a part of our customer service delivery team, delivering, picking up, and cleaning portable loos.

We could also do with a smart operator in the office to work with a couple of very dedicated and capable people on the customer contact, administration and accounts side of the business.

A computer whiz looking for flexible work, and a chance to show off their skilz with PHP, Laravel, Vue and Linux would be cool.

A dab hand at gizmos like GPS trackers, RFID tags (or Bluetooth tags, that could be fun), networks, handheld devices (and yes, boring printers etc. too) could earn a few bucks and do some pretty interesting things with technology over time (job one – how to keep track of 700+ portable loos in an asset register, automagically?).

Like welding (well, who doesn’t?) - we’ve got plenty of metal to be worked with, and maintence jobs coming out of our ears. The profit sharing on this job could be plenty lucrative.

Ever sold ad spaces and wished you were getting a part of the action – we’re looking for someone to do that too.
