Wow what a week.
From cutting our holiday short due to possible flooding on the Clarence, to coming home to the worst flood in history for our region.
You can see our normally gentle Wilson's Creek was in full flood. These pics show an approx 12m increase.

Thankfully we survived without damage, our staying guests we hope enjoyed staying on even though they had others places to get to. This is not a bad place to be trapped.

After a week of running around providing support where we can its time to take a breath and look around our towns and know this is a marathon not a race. And the first opportunity for us to post now that more communications are connected.

So many people have lost everything, in many cases homes as well as possessions.
Others have lost their land, as landslide changed the landscape and our towns lost roads and infrastructure.

In Upper Main Arm and Palm Woods the ground is still creaking, people are having to evacuated as they don't know if it's safe to stay.

It's going to take years to recover.

But what we have witnessed this week is how strongly our communities pull together.
Someone trapped....we find a helicopter to air lift them. Someone needs a help cleaning...5 people show up, mops in hand.
And at the end of many weary days there is a free meal available and people willing to offer a dry warm bed.

When we think of those who have lost their homes. Do they need our old fridge or second hand mattress... no they need to start fresh. Cash donations or if you have a passion around what you will give www.givit.org.au is a great non for profit place to start. help get what people really need direct to them.
