It is so hard to believe that eight weeks has gone by since we left home. So much preparation to leave and now we are sitting on the plane heading home. Sitting on an A380 is quite the experience. This is a monster of a plane. An A380 can hold up 525 passengers plus crew. As it heads off down the runway gathering speed I am in awe that something of this size with two levels, ( sadly we are not on the top deck….....

Wow is a word that I have repeated many times over the last couple of days. For fear of repeating myself there really is no other word to explain this city. From our arrival at 5.30 am two days ago we have been absolutely blown away by how polite and helpful everyone has been. Dubai airport is in a class of its own....

Our journey from Valencia to Barcelona was by high speed train. They are not joking when they say high speed. We were waiting on the platform as a high speed train went through and it sounded like a mad theme park ride it literally shook the platform. Whoosh and it was gone again. Valencia, Peñíscola and Tarragona. On the flight from Fes to Valencia I was sitting next to a lovely young man from Spain. No I didn’t chat the whole way …. I am always very happy for quiet time on a plane to read or write. He pointed out to me the beautiful pink lake that is near Alicante, absolutely stunning. We always knew that Fes was going to be flat out, a bit of a whirlwind but I so wanted to visit as I always remember my sister Clare telling me stories of Fes from her visit many years ago. Jumping on our train to Casablanca we noted that the train was all individual cabins with six people per cabin. Lovely and comfy. One lady was already in the cabin and she smiles and asks us where we are from. This Moroccan lady pulls out her phone and dials and then hands me her phone to talk to her daughter who speaks fluent English....

I honestly don’t think I have enough descriptive words in my vocabulary to properly explain how amazing and magical this city is. Marrakech has been an adventure that we will never forget. From the moment that we flew in there has not been a dull moment. On our arrival we got off the plane and headed to the exit, of course knowing we had to go through customs we came around a corner and could not believe how many people were standing there, I am talking in excess of a thousand or more….....

Taking my last look out of our window at the beautiful Cathedral I really feel that we could have enjoyed more time in Porto but we gave it a great crack and fitted a lot in four days. Saying goodbye to the UK as we flew out over the patchwork countryside I wondered if we will return one day. Such a beautiful country and we are so fortunate to have visited so many areas. Bristol is a very vibrant and happening city with loads of interesting places to visit. A wonderful family city with many excellent parks and green spaces. Population approximately 720000. Bristol is very well known for the amazing hot air balloon festival, the Suspension Bridge which is truly a sight to behold. Art and culture are abundant for all of the art lovers this is the home of Banksy....

Leaving London I smiled as the cab driver dropped us at the bus station, loveliest chap who helped with our bags and then shook Ian’s hand and gave me a kiss on the cheek. Most of our Uber and cab drivers are interesting to say the least… We have enjoyed many interesting conversations on the way, of life in the UK, politics and religion, yes terrifying as I am always cautious who I discuss politics and religion with....

Before leaving Australia we had a lovely dinner with Emma, I had a delightful cocktail called London Calling a mix of gin, lemon juice,orange bitters, sugar syrup and sherry, a great start to our returning to London. There are many amazing cities in the world but London has truly captured my heart. I just love it. On the flight from Dubai to London the excitement grew with afternoon tea being scones, jam and cream and strawberries and clotted cream……very English....

Sensational Singapore Singapore has certainly lived up to all that I had heard. Population : Approx 6.5 million people Land size 45 km by 32 km So incredibly clean and tidy. Friendliest of people who are all very hard working. Most people work long days and six days a week is common. A few interesting bits we learnt were that the public housing is excellent and the government is very proud of its buildings which are refurbished every few years....
