DJ G8C Mobile DJ Services DJG8C Mobile DJ Services is providing a premium service for individual functions around the Darwin, Northern Territory regions.

The setup of my DJ equipment consists of high quality 2.1 Quest PA system, wireless microphone and dual Denon DN-D4500 Digital Decks that play back through a 4 Channel Mixer Unit. The high visual LED lighting affects work in sequence with the music to suit any occasion. My music archives is supported by mainstream music from the 80's through to current listings, dance, techno and hardstyle. Howeve

r, I am also willing to cater to any occasion. Over the past 6 years I have catered for large weddings with all the formalities with love song listings, various ranges of music for birthday celebrations and sensed music for School end-of-year functions and dances throughout the years. I hold a Working with Children Card. Times of operation: I mainly run on a week-end schedule as this is not my primary job, however I can also be flexible for weddings and school functions. I specialise in Weddings, Birthday Parties, End-Of-Year Functions and any other excuse to party and dance the evening away.

My story of How DJ G8C Was Created

Back In 2005 I was a young man loving the Club seen’s and parting with people of all age groups, I loved the music and didn’t mind a dance and being part of a dance floor crew.

I had a passion for music, anything with good beats, rhythms and a melody and of course the golden Old’s. It had always stuck in my head what people were enjoying and at what the time these songs were best working... I had always wanted to be a DJ since a young kid so the idea to become one had been a lingering dream for some time, untill one day I had an opportunity to watch a co-worker on the, what use to be called “Party Cruise Boat” doing his DJ thing, I had to learn quick as he was leaving and I wanted to be his replacement so I had to track, collect, source as much music as I could that would be usable so I could have music to play.

Lucky for me my predecessor was nice enough to lend me his CD’s for a few gigs and I played/semi practiced under his watchful eye for them few gig’s and then suddenly I became the DJ on the Party Cruise Boat. I needed a name quick, it went from DJ ROBIN “as per the costume worn on the party cruise Boat” to DJ DUBC and many other out there names, until it finished in late 2007, that left me with no more DJ’ing to do.

At the time I was a mechanic working on motorcycles and so forth, but I was missing playing the music and making people party and dance so I looked into getting my own gear, and it was quite scary thought as I had no guaranteed jobs and was not too keen on the night club seen for the hours at the time, so I hired gear for a few gigs and was not making enough money to justify doing it.

I left the DJ thing for a few months and got a daunting call from a family member saying my aunty that had been battling cancer had passed away, I was devastated by this news and just wanted to get there and be with the rest of my family. So I and my brother couldn’t get flights as the V8 super cars were in town at the time so we drove to Bundaberg in QLD over two days to make her funeral service, it was a hectic mission but we made it.

It was a sad time, and my family means a lot to me and to confront the fact and see her passed was almost heart stopping and had brought us all too glum place, we held together as a family and guided one another other through this sad time. After a few weeks had passed by and I had returned home and was back at work and I had got a call from my aunts will trustee, saying that her beautiful sole had left me some money with conditions, the conditions being that it be put it toward something I love.

Now my misses was hoping to get a ring out of it but to her disgust I had already planned it down to a T what I was going to get, and it was the DJ gear I had my eye on for months. I was over the moon with joy, I was like a little kid on Christmas day opening presents when I first purchased most of my gear off Audio Technologies in Darwin.

My first few gigs were done for friends, and family of friends and believe me friends are the hardest critics, and they still are today, but the thing was they all knew me as “Gates’y” so I abbreviated my Ser name to G8C and it has stuck science then DJ G8C Mobile DJ Service or DG MDS, is funny though, because my grandmother use to call me DJ for short, as my name is David James so it’s nothing new to me.

MY DJ equipment currently consists of 2 high quality JBL 15 EON PA speakers, a Sure wireless microphone and d Denon DNMC6000MK2 Digital mixing deck that plays back through a 4 Channel Mixer Unit. Accompanied with high visual LED lighting affects that work in sequence with the music to suit any occasion. My music archives is supported by mainstream HOT 100/MIX104.9 music from the 80's through to current listings, dance, pop, rock, some RnB, and Techno. However, I am also willing to cater to any occasion. Over the past 10 years I have catered for large weddings with all the formalities from love song listings, various ranges of coordinated dance and wedding enterys. Music for birthday celebrations and censored music for Jrn School end-of-year functions and dances. I currently hold a Working with Children Card. Times of operation: I mainly run on a week-end schedule as this is not my primary job, however I can also be flexible for weddings and school functions. I specialise in Weddings, Birthday Parties, End-Of-Year Functions and any other excuse to party and dance the evening away.
