Our 2022 Vision: Two Kind
It's our mission to Listen, Learn, and Light the Way
Listen: With a passion for doin

g business better, we have taken the time to listen deeply. Learn: We aim to multiply the value of work we do, by investing in our next generation of leaders, and their learning. Light the Way: by empowering our team, we light the way for others to follow too. Acknowledgement...

We recognise the First Nations people on the land we live, work and play. Especially the Larrakia and Kuku Yalanji lands where we have a presence. We also acknowledge the many other First Nations elders and leaders who collaborate with us to share their culture and stories and inspire us to care for kids and keep culture strong. We follow their lead and appreciate and advocate for the caring for country, kids and community. The origin of these concepts, being that Indigenous people have been the first innovators, makers and kreators and led the way for us all to do better for generation after generation since the Dreamtime. We celebrate the tropical north, from Tiwi to the Daintree. Philosophy...

Our Herstory: We are a team of women in enterprise with a dream to grow a Made with Kindness Economy. With over a decade of experience, we have expertise in creating career pathways for community leaders to do what they love, on the country they love. Each One of us has knowledge and the power to Teach One. By leading our own change, we will create ripples and sea change in our world. Our Mission: We will be leaders; as solution brokers, we demonstrate a new way of working. We have a principle of invitation and lead from behind. We are innovative in the ways we work with women in enterprise in the tropical north. Service...

Our two kind model means that positive impacts flow two ways, through service provision for our community, we create a ripple effect for our collective and sea change. Our strategic priorities for 2022 are:
1) Employment: providing career mentoring support for our workers to grow their own creative enterprises reflective of our Each One, Teach One model.
2) Economic Development: establishing an in-house product design and development model that services our community's needs for corporate and cultural gifts
3) Empowerment: investing our proceeds into two x community initiatives; Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership + Higher Attire along with a range of community events
4) Experiences: collaborating with community and cultural leaders like Mayala Bol, Wangatunga Tiwi Women, Hoops for Health (Darwin) and Walkabout Cultural Adventures and Harbrow Mentoring (Daintree) to host bespoke cultural and creative experience and events, supporting their on country enterprises
5) Education: sharing our stories from our collective through our website and marketing platforms. Promoting stories that celebrate kindness and keeping culture strong, with the themes of; mindfulness, caring for kids, caring for country, doing business better and youth leadership. One of our long term Makers is on an inspired journey to create change. Wishing Kristy from Everlasting Health all the best as a finalist for the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award 💜✨

Exciting News! ✨

I’m incredibly honored to be named a finalist for the AgriFutures Australia Rural Women's Award for my "Women’s Business" program!

"Women’s Business" aims to empower rural and remote women through health education, collaboration, and community building—fostering whole-person, whole-community, and whole-country healing in regional Australia. Seeing this work recognised at this level is truly humbling, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to expand its impact.

A huge thank you to Westpac for their generous $15K grant, which will help drive this mission forward.

Congratulations to my fellow finalists, Barbara Clifford and Nicole Walsh—it’s an absolute privilege to stand alongside such inspiring women.

Congratulations to Jamie-Lee Puautjimi on her recognition as a life member for her contribution as a player to the NTF, across three clubs and as a representative player for the NT.

Jamie-Lee was the inaugural recipient of our Tapalinga Award, a decade ago, giving her the experience of playing with our partners, Diamond Creek Women's FC in the VWFL.

Jamie-Lee was also a valued leader with our Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership program over many years.

Her legacy will be deeply felt by the next generation ✨

“The key to a wonderful life is to never stop wandering into wonder.” – Suzy Kassem

Starting as an upcycle initiative many years ago, our community fell in love with these one-of-a-kindness travel cushions, showcasing female textile artists across the tropical north.

We are joyed that we are now able to take corporate orders in 2025.

If you are keen to offer a gift that will always keep a piece of the Territory close, these are perfect. Made by hand, with kindness on Larrakia country.

This set features textile art: Namurre Boko - by Jay Jurrupula Rostron

Gratitude to for leading the project in 2025.

We were so moved to recieve this feedback through our Small Seeds program recently:

"📚✨ A heartfelt thank you from the Serco Asia Pacific team at Acacia Prison✨📚

Thanks to the generous donation from Magabala Books of 500 books, all written and illustrated by Aboriginal people for children aged 0-10 years. We are excited to be able to gift these books to families during our extended family visits over the coming months.

At Acacia Prison, we are so grateful to Magabala for supporting our projects and the men in our care and their families.

As well as sharing the books with the families, we are also using them in our Story Book Dads program. The program requires dedication for the men to link back to family and this cultural donation has revitalised it, making it bigger and better.

We record the men reading the books and send the recordings and books home, so children can still hear a bedtime story from dad despite the circumstances. 📖 Having the men read aloud also helps us identify any language and literacy barriers, allowing us to support them without shame or judgement.

Your donation’s impact extends beyond the prison walls, reaching the families as well. Thank you for making a difference! 🙏

Attached is a photo of one of our beautiful tactical aunties.

We loved watching the men’s faces light up with pride when handing over the books – it was pure magic. 🌟"

Small Seeds provides children and young people with culturally relevant books they love. Donate now to help us give the gift of books.
