Our 2022 Vision: Two Kind
It's our mission to Listen, Learn, and Light the Way
Listen: With a passion for doing business better, we have taken the time to listen deeply. Our collective and our dreams are our priority. Learn: We aim to multiply the value of work we do, by investing in our next generation of l

eaders, and their learning. Light the Way: by empowering our team, we light the way for others to follow too. Acknowledgement...

We recognise the First Nations people on the land we live, work and play. Especially the Larrakia and Kuku Yalanji lands where we have a presence. We also acknowledge the many other First Nations elders and leaders who collaborate with us to share their culture and stories and inspire us to care for kids and keep culture strong. We follow their lead and appreciate and advocate for the caring for country, kids and community. The origin of these concepts, being that Indigenous people have been the first innovators, makers and kreators and led the way for us all to do better for generation after generation since the Dreamtime. We celebrate the tropical north, from Tiwi to the Daintree. Philosophy...

Our Herstory: We are a team of women in enterprise with a dream to grow a Made with Kindness Economy. With over a decade of experience, we have expertise in creating career pathways for community leaders to do what they love, on the country they love. Our Dream: We believe in the Starfish Parable. Each One of us has knowledge and the power to Teach One. By leading our own change, we will create ripples and sea change in our world. Our Mission: We will be leaders; as solution brokers, we demonstrate a new way of working. We have a principle of invitation and lead from behind. We are innovative in the ways we work with women in enterprise in the tropical north. Service...

YOUR DREAM x OUR TEAM
Connection: We invite you to work and invest with us, Two Kind enterprises with a common vision and ethical practice. Collaboration: Engage our collective to make your visions a reality. We will custom design and deliver one-of-a-kindness corporate and cultural gifts and experiences for you. Celebration: As a community, we will create employment + economic development for young leaders and women in enterprise, celebrating their success. Outcomes...

Our two kind model means that positive impacts flow two ways, through service provision for our community, we create a ripple effect for our collective and sea change. Our strategic priorities for 2022 are:
1) Employment: providing career mentoring support for our workers to grow their own creative enterprises reflective of our Each One, Teach One model.
2) Economic Development: establishing an in-house product design and development model that services our community's needs for corporate and cultural gifts
3) Empowerment: investing our proceeds into two x community initiatives; Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership + Higher Attire along with a range of community events
4) Experiences: collaborating with community and cultural leaders like Mayala Bol, Wangatunga Tiwi Women, Hoops for Health (Darwin) and Walkabout Cultural Adventures and Harbrow Mentoring (Daintree) to host bespoke cultural and creative experience and events, supporting their on country enterprises
5) Education: sharing our stories from our collective through our website and marketing platforms. Promoting stories that celebrate kindness and keeping culture strong, with the themes of; mindfulness, caring for kids, caring for country, doing business better and youth leadership. We believe in the Starfish Parable.

For many years we have been a retail outlet in the tropical north for The Indigenous Literacy Foundation supporting their collaboration with schools like Tiwi College.

Their storytelling and literacy projects have engaged young Tiwi women who were also part of our Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership program in the past.

The Japparrika series of books is a celebration of these stories and a favourite in store.

We invite you to visit our store to discover more.

Ripple effects...

Way back in 2011, Starwin held its inaugural TalentEd camp - designed as a leadership and training opportunity for young people looking to have a career in sport.

Willie Rioli Junior was the youngest participant on the camp as a 15 year old.

Fast forward a decade on, he is returning home as a premiership AFL player and alongside other leaders, playing a role in community programs with Jipungwayi.

Jipungwayi is a Tiwi founded and led enterprise providing community engagement and youth development activities.

Mikey, the founder, also happens to be the son of Aunty Lulu, the creator behind Tiwi Art by Lulu, who is a valued contributor to our collective.

Does blue create the right zone for you and your little ones?

Blue is a color often found in nature, such as the pale blue of a daytime sky or the rich dark blue of a deep pool of water. This is perhaps why we often describe blue as calm and serene.

Batchelor Institute Press is the publishing arm of Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education, Northern Territory, Australia.

The teaching and learning resources developed at Batchelor Institute are produced primarily for Indigenous Australian students living in remote communities, the majority of whom have English as a second or third language.

The content of these resources has been developed by community elders, students and teaching staff with many years experience in ESL, distance learning and curriculum development.

We have been privileged to be a retail outlet for Batchelor Press for several years, stocking resources for little ones, like these Larrakia learning tools by Jason Lee.

Shining a light this week on team member Djamarlia Darr-Segeyaro who for the past year has been leading the way at our Darwin store and event spaces.

A young woman who embodies our vision with kindness, she has been supporting her peers at Starwin, sharing knowledge, mentoring and guiding over the past two years, as well as taking on a leadership role with the shop administration, marketing, online orders and more.

This year Djamarlia stepping into full-time study, undertaking a Bachelor of Laws at Charles Darwin University. She has continued to keep our shopfront open and event pop up spaces happening alongside her uni work.

Please note, for the next two weeks whilst Djarmarlia undertakes her university exams, the shop will be in a slow down mode.

In some more exciting news, this month she has been notified of her success in application for the NTG internship project and so from mid November until the end of February, Djamarlia will have the opportunity to work with Attorney General's office.

We wholeheartedly support her career journey every step of the way and congratulate Djamarlia on her leadership and wish her all the best with her learning, and look forward to welcoming you in the new year!

We do have some exciting plans ahead for elevating our youth leaders, so please keep connected. We value your ongoing support that enables us to invest in the next generation ✨
