GEMBOREE 2023 held over Easter in Dayboro, SE Queensland is done and dusted! Congratulations to all section and trophy winners who entered the various competitions! Anyone wanting to see who won what, or want to check their scores in the various competition sections can now find them online on the GEMBOREE 2023 website. www.gemboree2023.com.au.

The 2023 GEMBOREE is done and dusted! A big thankyou to the QLACCA committee, the dealers, the tailgaters, the competitors, the sponsors and of course the public who attended to make
the event a great success!

I think everyone could agree that they had a good time and can be pleased at how well the event was run!

The Mineralogical Society of Queensland will have a display of minerals and crystals. As well there will be a display of fluorescent minerals - the colours hiding in specimens are amazing!

If you are planning on bringing your furry friend along to the GEMBOREE we have a few rules that we need dog owners to adhere to whilst in the showgrounds: Dogs must be on leash at all times If you dog is not dog friendly they must be muzzled Dogs are NOT permitted in the Marquee or pavilion You must clean up your dogs droppings

It's taken a while, as a few additions and corrections made, but the GEMBOREE booklet is now available on our website for download:

The booklet contains The show program; Application for a tailgate site and contract; GEMBOREE registration form; Volunteer assistance form; and the Competition schedule.

To make it easier to find our GEMBOREE web page in future we have created a Q Code which you can scan to take you directly to the GEMBOREE webpage. We will include it in our future comms. It works in much the same way as your COVID checkin app, but in this case you will need a free QCode Reader for your smart phone. You can download one from Google Playstore or the Apple App Store.

The Dayboro GEMBOREE 2023 Committee met today during the Mudgerraba club show. The committee is nutting out some final details of next years show. Dealer invitations, tailgating information and the GEMBOREE booklet are not far off release.

Attending the annual GEMBOREE at Easter has been a regular event for anyone interested in minerals, fossils and gems for over 50 years! This Easter it's in Mudgee, NSW, but we are already planning for Dayboro, SE Queensland in 2023. Dayboro is only 47kms from Brisbane CBD and just under an hours drive. How many Gemborees have you attended? I can name 12 since 1973!

The Queensland Lapidary and Allied Craft Clubs Association Incorporated (QLACCA) has the task of running the 59th National Gem and Mineral Show for 2023. The committee is now meeting and the site has been announced as the showgrounds at Dayboro, a country town about 45kms NW of Brisbane in south east Queensland.
