The SWL Brunch Hit List: Part II

Part two of director of SWL Bek’s brunch hit list takes a look at the rise and rise of staples like avo toast and Turkish eggs, as our director suggests her final picks of the brunch bunch.

1. Meelup Farmhouse – find a spot within the grounds of this dreamy coastal hobby farm in Eagle Bay, and you’ll be set up for the day with one of Bek’s favourites. The chilli scrambled eggs with char sui pork belly on top of some of that famous Yallingup woodfired sourdough is perfection and lasts just long enough for you to discuss the merits of moving down south and buying some goats.
2. Goanna Café – serving the good stuff from Thursday through to Monday in Quindalup, this bush café feels like our little secret among friends. Tuck into a stack of pancakes, a hearty bush breakfast or go Indo with spiced coconut rice topped with coriander and a fried egg. Don’t forget to check out the art gallery onsite too.
3. Artezen – when you need your coffee fast and fresh, head to this Dunsborough stalwart. Famous for its super-friendly and chill vibes, this café has been everybody’s favourite pit stop for brunch for over 20 years. Bek thinks they make the BEST scrambled eggs in the south west!!

Introducing The Pav

It’s a gastro pub, it’s a boutique wine store with its very own wine bar, it’s a distillery – and it’ll soon be your favourite stop in Busselton too.

The Busselton Pavilion, part of the Parker Group (that’s the powerhouse hospo organisation behind Fleur, The Standard and Dandelion to name a few) is making waves on the Geographe Bay shoreline with its brilliant new reason to organise a road trip down south.

With a kitchen headed up by Brandan Pratt (ex-Vasse Felix) you can look forward to pub food with plenty of chutzpah.

Put yourself in our hands and from Wednesday to Sunday, we can organise your party’s trip to the Pav and back to your digs.

All you have to do is look forward to a long lunch or dinner starring marron sangas, whole roasted squid and boutique wines by the glass just begging for a bowl of hot chips on the side.

The SWL Brunch Hit List: Part I

Some might say that brunch is the best meal of the day, SWL's Bek will take you on a walk through an olive grove, introduce a buzzy little café in the heart of Dunsborough and head to the coast for views that’ll make you never want to leave.

1. Eagle Bay Olives – beautiful Eagle Bay may be one of our favourite spots on the whole Margaret River coastline, so if you’re planning on spending the day on this dreamy beach, head to EBO Café and find out whether barista Tristan’s reputation is worth all the fuss. Home-baked pastries complete the picture and make this one of Bek’s favourite pre-beach rituals.
2. La Lah – on Dunn Bay Road, Bek loves La Lah for its bright and breezy attitude and heads here when she needs a toastie and coffee to go. It’s open seven days and has some smart spins on old favourites like miso avo smash and a haloumi burger dripping in Swiss cheese and topped with a crispy edged fried egg.
3. White Elephant Café – after undergoing a renovation in 2023, Gnarabup’s White Elephant Café is once again pumping. Grab a spot overlooking the ocean and if you’re lucky (and it’s the right time of the year), watch the migrating whales pass by. Acai bowls, mushrooms on toast and excellent coffee all pale into the background with those world class views as far as the eye can see.
