Thank you to the Blackwater & District Orchid & Foliage Club Inc for this gorgeous Vanda Orchid 💜

I've named her Addie and she's hanging out in the bathroom until the flowers open (so I don't miss them) and then she's going to take up residence in the Orchid House (the old cubby doesn't sound as impressive 😊)

Earrings for scale 😉 Addie's blooms are going to be much bigger than cheese platter earrings 😁

Feeling a bit creative lately, so we thought we could get our followers involved by providing us with some inspiration.

Let's play a game!

By 'game' I mean you all suggest design briefs and I will attempt to bring one to life each week at Blackwater Gifts and Flowers
(I was going to call it "Challenge Me Tuesday", but I didn't really want to name a specific day, and let's face it, some weeks the biggest challenge on Tuesday is actually getting our flowers in a timely manner, 🥴 and some days are just busy.)
Anyway, I decided to call it "Three Little Words", but you can use whatever sized words you like. "Three Words of Indeterminate Length" doesn't really have the same ring to it. 😆

As an example, our lovely CJ kicked things off last week by submitting the following random combination of her current curiosities...

🐢 Donatello (the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle),

🌵 Succulents, and

🦐 Artemia (this is the scientific name for the genus of aquatic micro crustaceans that Sea Monkeys belong to, and we didn't just say Sea Monkeys because Sea Monkeys is two words... 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️ I can be a stickler for the rules at times, even when I make them up myself 😆)

Design 1 will be posted as a reel 📽️ once she's seen it.

What can you come up with? My favourite three little words are "Here's your coffee" (if you'll allow the contraction), but you can't use those 😉☕

While I was home I made some arrangements for Nan (my great grandmother), Pop (my great grandfather), and Granny (my grandmother) as well as one for Gramp's grave. These are all foam free.

The first floristry item I tried to make by myself (before I had any training) was a wreath for my grandmother's funeral 11 years ago. It was bright and bold (like Granny) and had a blue ribbon (her favourite colour) with wooden letters that spelled GRANNY across it. I looked for the photos but couldn't find them.

Today we laid her husband, my Grampy to rest beside her, and I was honoured to make his casket spray. It included tools, fishing lures, a bowls cloth, a grease rag, a tyre and a couple of stubbies. Rest in Peace Old Grampy Jack beside Granny. Together again. 🤍🕊️🕯️🪶

Client's hat is a dark olive, so the little touches of colour kind of pop.

We are warning consumers not to deal with Bloomex Pty Ltd, an online supplier of local and imported floral arrangements and gift baskets, also trading as Bloomex and bloomex.com.au.

We have seen a rise in complaints about not receiving pre-paid goods within a promised timeframe, receiving items that are different to what was advertised and receiving items that are of poor quality.
