It was a glorious day for a fabulous painting workshop with Emma on Sunday.
Our beautiful Mackillop Hall with its wrap around verandah was the perfect location to enjoy a lovely afternoon at the seaside. With the magnificent Capricorn Coast & Kepple Islands as a backdrop it was easy to be inspired to create lovely artwork.
Emma is a wonderful teacher and no experience is required to create an uniquely you masterpiece. Keep an eye out for her up and coming workshops.

It was delightful to have Emma from Penny and Pebbles at The Haven on Friday for a fabulous Save The Koala Painting day. Everyone had a wonderful time and some amazing artwork was created by talented blossoming artists young and old.
Keep an eye out for Emma's next workshop they are always creatively fabulous.

COOKIE TIME AT THE HAVEN Sat 7th Sept 2024

Join us at The Haven in Emu Park for a hands-on workshop hosted by TMF!
Get ready to get hands-on because these workshops are FOR EVERYONE -10years and up....no experience needed. Whether you want to learn something new or just have a great time this work shop is designed for fun.

Our first workshop starts off sweet - decorating cookies with a playful spring theme! NO rules just have fun.
Light refreshments will also be included and two time spots available.

What's included in the workshop?

What TMF provides for your workshop is 4 x cookies - 1 x Basket with flowers, 1 x Sun, 1 x Flower & 1 x Butterfly cookie designs with everything you need ready to decorate, all tools needed for the workshop will be supplied. Theresa will be demonstrating some effects to achieve on your cookies.

You will be using a couple of different icings - Fondant, royal icing, playing with moulds, painting, drawing and After you have finished decorating your cookies you will place all your delicious work in a box/tray to take home. Extra kits will be available to purchase on the day, if you would like to practice some more at home.

What to bring?
All you need to to bring is yourself, wear comfy clothes and shoes and an apron if you have one. We will have some aprons available to purchase on the day if required.

Joanne Douglas from Tanby Point took these lovely photos of the Fire Works which were released at Alexandria and Sam's Wedding on Saturday. This as one of the best fireworks displays we have had. The Fireworks were prepared and presented by "Light Em Up Fireworks", they did a fantastic light show. Joanne was able to beautifully capture the show, thank you for sharing with us Joanne.

So by telling you my children buy me artificial plastic plants you will understand why this mound of dirt is a mound of dirt...and rocks and boulders.

Sadly I do not have a green thumb and this mound of dirt and rocks will stay a mound of dirt and rocks with out intervention.

So, If anyone has any ideas or photos they would be happy to share on how this mound of dirt and rocks can be turned into a living breathing garden please, please feel free to share.

Seriously the weather is spectacular at the moment. Lovely sunshine, and crisp nights, so delightful.

We don't often do this but for this week and this coming weekend we have rooms available in our fabulous Julian Lodge.

The Lodge has so much room and boats five lounges a large kitchen and kitchenette, dining rooms, a great room for board games and a really, really large TV big enough for big screen movies.

Wedding Celebrations have to be one of my favourite bookings at The Haven.

Last week Steven and Shannon shared their love and devotion for each other before family and friends as they joined hands and hearts to become Mr and Mrs Fapaa.

Due to unprecedented flooding from four days of rain The ceremony was held in Zilzee Sunset retirement Village. Robyn from the village did an amazing job of turning the hall into a perfect venue for the couple.

There was not a dry eye when Shannon and Steven said their "I DOs" and everyone's faces erupted in joy and tears when the celebrant said.....I now pronounce you man and wife.

The reception in the Mackillop Event hall at The Haven followed the ceremony with an amazing delicious meal by Our very own Emu Park local Caterers Adam and Abby from Ocean Brew.

Thankyou Shannon and for choosing The Haven.
To celebrate your special day. It was such a privilege to be part of your day.

Our gorgeous couples are choosing the new stunning ceremony venue owned by our neighbours Michael and Julie McDouall for their exquiste ceremony.

Following their ceremony its just a stroll down the path into The Haven to enjoy their delicious reception.

The combination of these two venues results in breath taking photos and everlasting memories.

Looking like its going to be another perfect weekend at The Haven.

Trevor, Ian and Bill spent some time today setting up for a 70th birthday party on Saturday Night.

The family has booked Fitzroy House and Joseph Place with the stunning Joseph Place Event Lawn for their celebration.

Our big blue gazebo has gone up over the lawn and Festoon lighting placed over the long tables and through the gazebo with Fairy lights strung up around the perimeter.

A fire pit has been put down one end of the lawn to keep everyone toasty warm and a couple of smokers will be slow cooking their meal for a long table dinner.

With mums, dads, uncles, aunts, grandparents and lots of smiling children the weekend is already perfect. Tomorrow night when all their wonderful friends join them to celebrate this mile stone birthday the perfect will be Epic!

And that my lovelies is the very best reason to book a family adventure at The Haven.
