To only score Lisa and Tiffany's as 100, is underscoring them both. If you were there you would have seen the little interactions that make such a huge difference, The story that we had shared with Lisa was then woven through the service so that all of our friends and family both laughed and shed a tear. Lisa was the perfect pick for our special day! We wanted someone kind, loving and caring and we got all that and more from Lisa. We loved the emotion she brought to our ceremony but also her chilled and calm nature which we needed as we were both a little nervous standing in front of everyone. Lisa explained everything perfectly to us and we never felt in the dark. She also provided great advice and material which were printed out for us. I couldn't recommend Lisa more x

Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants annual conference, a gala dinner to commemorate 50 years since the 1st ever celebrant was registered, a little sightseeing and a lot of fun.

50 years ago today, 19th of July 1973 something very exciting happened.

The Commonwealth Attorney-General at the time, Lionel Murphy, appointed Lois D’Arcy as Australia’s very first Civil Marriage Celebrant.

Up until that day, anyone getting married in Australia was being married by a minister of religion or at the registry office.

That one celebrant has grown to 10,126 celebrants around Australia, appointed to solemnise marriages according to the law.

This year over 80% of weddings occurring in Australia will be officiated by a celebrant like me and Lois D’Arcy.

Tonight I will be celebrating at a 50th Anniversary Gala Ball in Canberra, where it all began. And Lois D’Arcy will be there !

Happy 1st Celebrant Day to all my celebrant friends ❤🥂🥳
