We wanted to inform the community of some upcoming changes you'll see at the hall.
As you know, we are a very small committee and have strived to run markets and events each month as well as maintain the hall & grounds.
There's only so much that a small group can do and it's come to the stage where we are all needing a break.
You'll notice that Deb is running her garage sale from the hall (you should see how much she has to sell ๐Ÿคช) and she will be running the markets for the next 12 months. This gives the rest of the committee a well-earned break.
Deb's market has outside stalls available and they will run weekly for a while, then maybe fortnightly, this depends on the support of the community.

Although some community members have expressed concerns about the changes, be assured we made this decision in the best interest of the hall and we ask for your understanding & support.
Buildings of that age need air circulation, someone to be there and to be looking after it. In 12 months' time, it may go back to the way it was or continue as is - but in the mean time please understand that the committee still want what's best for the hall and the community.

If you wish to book a stall with Deb, please call / text her 0409864475.

Are you someone who likes to get things done?
Do you love our community?
Do you have some great ideas and just need the platform (or hall)?

We need some people to join our committee and give it a facelift.

Our committee members have loved the hall for quite a while, and some of us are happy to step aside and let you step up.

Please email us [email protected] or contact Susan 0409628031 (during business hours).
We want the hall to remain in the community's hands, so if you love the hall, please reach out.
(We have had lots of promises of help that never seem to eventuate, so if you offer, please be willing to commit).

It's a great time of year to clean out the cupboards and shed - stalls cost just $10 per table (provided) and we have a coffee van, some music and a BBQ, along with plants, jams, knitted items, new and used goods.
Sell from your car/ute outside in the paddock.
Message this page or call/text Susan on 0409628031 to book a table.

Did you know that the Forcett Community Hall is community owned?
This means that the land the hall sits on was donated to the community.
It also means the hall is maintained and managed by volunteers in the community & all profits go towards the maintenance of the hall.

Our current committee consists of members who have been active in the hall management for quite a number of years, and we are searching for locals who are able to join the committee. To join our great team, we ask that:
- You are able to communicate with other members in an open and friendly manner
- You can help with simple maintenance, such as cleaning, mowing and general care of the hall (we take turns so it works out about once or twice a year for each member)
- Help set-up and pack-up at the occasional market and helping with BBQs to raise money for the hall.

In return, active members of the committee can utilise the hall free of charge.
It also means that the hall stays in the hands of the community. Without extra help, our committee will struggle to maintain the hall as required.

Please send us a message or phone Susan on 0409628031.

Family groups also welcome ๐Ÿ˜€

Our Story

The beautiful Forcett Community Hall, built in 1915, is available to hire for functions such as weddings and anniversaries and also courses such as yoga, tai chi and art classes. Please note that due to damage to the hall, we no longer hire the hall for birthday parties under 30th birthdays (this includes 18th and 21st birthdays). A person aged over 18 must be responsible for the key. It is also used to hold concerts by various local performers, such as our Christmas Concert and Country Music afternoons. The Hall has a new kitchen with refrigerator, microwave oven, pie warmer and urn. There are plenty of tables and chairs (you just need to provide the food and drinks). The hall is heated by reverse cycle heat pumps. It has two male and two female toilets, with one of each having disabled access. Our revised hire fees are as follows: - 24 hours (with a key) - this allows you to set up the night before: $180 (plus a refundable bond) - 5 hours: $50 (plus a refundable bond) - 4 hours: $40 (plus a refundable bond)

Please contact Susan on 0409628031 to book the hall.
