Global Echoes Presents Chancha Via Circuito - Launch Party Memories 🌍🎶

Just in time for Throwback Thursday, it's hard to believe our Global Echoes launch was only 11 days ago! Truly a night to remember with the incredible Chancha Via Circuito taking over 600 dancers straight into the heart of Argentinian underground music culture and a dancefloor that was on fire! Here are some beautiful memories of a truly magical night. The energy, the music, the merging of communities – we loved every second of this special night! ✨

Wow, what an incredible launch to our new Global Echoes Series! With smiles and dancing bodies left right and center, Freo.Social was on fire🔥, and we are over the moon with this new addition to our Red Earth Dub Circus sound explorations!

We tip our top hats to the communities which truly came together to celebrate this special occasion! Thank you to all the rhythm explorers, dancers, performers, and talent behind the decks and on instruments! And of course, a huge shout out to Chancha Via Circuito for a 2-hour set that can only be described as magical and one for the history books! It fills our heart with joy to see this huge support for musical diversity in WA!

A special thank you to The Nook Legends for joining us on this adventure and to the Freo.Social team, we couldn't ask for a better collaboration!
Global Echoes & our Freo Dub Club series will be back in spring with some very exciting new sonic journeys to come.

🌱In the mean time we will be focusing on supporting our favorite cause of the year - If you just can't get enough, our REDC Allstar DJs will be setting up our little Dub Rig and joining forces with our Activate Tree Planting Family for their Dance for the Trees fundraiser this Saturday. Always a beautiful wholesome vibe and every cent raised from ticket sales goes towards planting more trees in the Wheatbelt!

We are incredibly excited and proud to announce our brand new event series, Global Echoes! 🎶 From the vibrant rhythms of the Andes to the soulful beats of the Savanna and beyond, from Cumbia to Trip Hop to Afro-futurism, with this new format we'll be diving deep into underground sound cultures from around the world. While our roots are in Dub and Reggae, Global Echoes is a celebration of international sound migration, providing fertile ground for multicultural artists, communities and genres to grow and thrive on the shores of Western Australia.

Our launch event is just around the corner, with two (!) international headliners and a full venue takeover at Freo.Social on Sunday, June 2, during the WA Day long weekend! 🎉

And that's a wrap - Wow what an incredible night! 🙌 Thank you, dub heads, for making Sunday's session such a massive celebration of this incredible season. Having 750 people come together to celebrate Dub & Sound System culture in WA was truly amazing! It's definitely also food for thought on what else might be possible in the future.
Huge shutout to all artists who delivered only killers, no fillers, all day & night. Special thanks to our fabulous circus entourage for lighting up the venue, to .b.i.soundsystem for providing the word, sound, and power, and of course, to our international guests and for delivering jaw-dropping sets!
As a DIY Collective, we're still buzzing from the incredible session and our first Freo Dub Club season, and what a ride it has been! A special thanks to our media team for documenting last Sunday on photography & on videography.

As always your feedback is invaluable to us as we continue to learn and grow with each gathering. Now that our season has ended, we'll take some time to reflect, spend some time in the workshop building our sound and prepare for some very exciting future plans. This first season has already been amazing, and we can't wait to kick things off again soon. Freo witnessed a mesmerizing musical spectacle last night, courtesy of Scientist, co-presented by the fabulous Holiday Maker Records, and yours truly, our Red Earth Dub Circus family🎶

🌟 Last night was truly one for the books! Scientist's dubbing of the spectacular Crucial Rockers meets Big Ship Band was beyond extraordinary. Special shouts to MC SPEX for dominating the mic during Scientist anthology set, General Justice for turning warming up the dance, and the Acid Dub Foundation Trio for keeping the live dub vibes going strong. 🎤
Traction Productions illuminated the night with their exceptional lighting, visuals, and live feed. Our heartfelt thanks to the Port Beach Brewery team for their fantastic support.
And last but definitely not least; to all our amazing Dubheads and WA Massive, your energy and love for the music are are an inspiration. You are the lifeblood of what we do. 🙌

🔊 Dubheads, brace yourselves for history in the making! The one and only Scientist is gracing Australian shores for the very first time, and together with Holiday Maker Records, the Red Earth Dub Circus is thrilled to co-promote the Western Australian show of the Scientist (Encounters Australia Tour) Port Beach Brewery, Fremantle + Special Guests on Thursday, October 26th. Scientist, or Hopeton Overton Brown, is a musical pioneer who has left an indelible mark on the world of sound engineering and dub music. "Make no mistake about it: Dub music was the first electronic music," Scientist declared, underlining the genre's pivotal role in music history.

Scientist's career began in Kingston, Jamaica, in the 1970s under the guidance of dub pioneer King Tubby. His distinctive mixing philosophy and extravagant style made him a legend in the world of dub. He played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of dub and, by extension, the foundations of hip-hop and contemporary electronic music. Scientist's work continues to resonate globally, influencing dub, remix culture, and the music world as a whole. His collaborations with artists like Khruangbin, Jack Johnson, Sublime, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard showcase the depth of his impact on the music world.

Don't miss this historic event. Witness Scientist as he shows of his craft live dubbing a local supercharged live dub band sensation featuring the Crucial Rockers and The Big Ship Band.
