It’s Competition time!

I just made this beautiful wreath to photograph it for my website. It’s a 50cm fully covered wreath, entirely compostable and contains no wires or plastics - it would also be wonderful to dry and keep for years.

Flashback to this time last week, when my “plein-air” studio was overflowing with Mother’s Day bunches. The flowers smelt incredible in the evening, and I love how they’re lit with the old festoon outdoor lights that hung above our shop at Fremantle Markets for four years.

Bringing a “bunch” of flowers together involves many hardworking hands!!

We had a little rest this week and even a tiny getaway to Rottnest Island. The land there is dry, like all our local bush, and I’m hoping for some big fat drops of rain soon, we need it, don’t we?

We’re open all weekend for your fresh and dry Christmas flowers. Online orders are closed but come down from 8-6 Friday or Saturday for your Christmas flowers and Sunday til around 4pm.

All our flowers are local and we choose long lasting varieties so it’s ok to buy you Christmas Day flowers on Friday or Saturday.

We’ll be making our lovely gather bowls for your gatherings! This year $65 only.

And we still have three calendars, five wreaths plus a beautiful supply of mini and small vases - perfect gifts from only $15.

Go placidly this week, and remember what peace there may be in silence, and in nature. Read some poetry, let someone in front of you on our busy roads. Take the trash out for your mum.

Christmas at Freo Markets requires large decorations for our big old building. We worked diligently this year to store materials from past installations, knowing the longevity of our awesome native Banksia flowers.

The wreath Bella is holding up has 36 Banksia flowers on it, and we made six of these for The Yard (where you get your fruit and vegetables from). We also splashed a dozen on each tree around the food court and then tweaked our Spring decorations inside the Hall with a bit of gold for a summer festive vibe.

Now we’re hand making wreaths for custom orders and you can also choose from what’s hanging up in store.

Voting Yes in the referendum for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice will not diminish anyone’s influence, but it will give Indigenous people a say in the matters that affect them. It will enrich democracy. It will give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders due recognition in our Constitution as Australia’s first peoples.

We encourage other industries, businesses and organisations to join with us as we move towards a pivotal moment in our history.

We ask our friends, families and acquaintances to learn more about the Uluru Statement from the Heart and make an informed decision.
