I have word from Chef Ni**od! He has made a deal with Zues ⛈️ and there is now a patch of sun 🌞 at Point Walter Reserve for the Midwinter event tonight. The second part of his wrath 🌧 is due to come at 8pm.
The event is going ahead 🙌🏻

We will be at the Midwinter event tomorrow night with a glorious buffet for you to enjoy! ❄️🌙 💚

If you have been missing us or wanting to try our food, now is your chance!
Warm your belly with our Middle Eastern inspired feast before wandering around the gorgeous lakeside, toasting marshmallows, listening to storytellers and musicians, and much more 🤗

Plates will be $22 for adults and $11 for kids from 5pm until sold out.

MENU

Brioche bread

Dips:
Jerusalem hummus (gf, vgn)
Baba Ghanoush (gf, vgn)
Beetroot tahini (gf, vgn)

Vegetables:
Marinated eggplants (gf, vgn)
Beetroot with cumin, pickled onion, and chickpeas (gf, vgn)
Potato salad with carrot and dill (gf, vgn)
Smoked paprika and Cajun eggplant, kidney beans & carrot (gf, vgn)

Warms:
Vegetable Paella (gf, vgn)
Traditional couscous (vgn)

Mains:
Moroccan chicken tagine with apricots (gf)
Slow cooked beef with mushroom, chickpeas, and figs (gf)

*A note on dietaries:
gf = gluten-free friendly
v = vegetarian
vgn = vegan

**Although all due care is taken, we can not guarantee there will be no traces of allergens in our food.
***Tree nuts and sesame feature highly on our menu and in our kitchen, so unfortunately, we can not offer nut or sesame free options. Other allergens in our kitchen include dairy, eggs, and wheat.

We had a few requests for the Rose Tahini recipe 🌹 so here you go!

Simply mix up a date honey (or regular honey) tahini dip using:
Tahini
Date honey (or regular honey)
Lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Cold water to create the consistency you desire

Then, add a few drops of rose water to taste and finish by sprinkling with rose petals, nigella seeds, and a drizzle of date honey.

The beauty of these recipes is that they are all to taste - add more of less of everything to get a combination that works for you 😋
and use whatever you want for dipping! Strawberries are delicious 🍓

I discovered NMF in 2013, and when I couldn't get a ticket, I volunteered and ended up on the gate.
10 years later, I am now going to be catering breakfasts, lunches, and dinners over the weekend, and I can't wait!!
