Jigarre Jammin’s camp weekend is nearly here. A jam packed weekend of friendship and musical shenanigans in the Girgarre Memorial Hall. The campers are already rolling in-come and join them, there’s music wafting around the camp already - they can’t wait. The weekends program is a little different this time due to the re-formed Junkestra’s final spit and polish before the concert on Sunday (see the flyer below). Camp Program. Friday evening 7pm - white board open mic in the Girgarre Supper Room. Bring along a tune or two. Saturday 10.30am. Grab a quick coffee and join us for another open mic in the hall. Saturday arvo. 1.30 - 3.30 an on screen play along Jam. Dust off your guitar, uke or mando for some easy, catchy tunes to play or just sing. Three fantastic leaders to help you along. There’s also the opportunity to join a random pick ‘Five Minutes of Fame’ band. Terrific fun and very popular. Saturday evening from 7pm the Five minute bands will star followed by a classy concert. Camping costs $25 p/p (cash thx). Saturday visitors $5 and a plate of afternoon tea. Sunday 10 -11am free old time gospel singalong in the Hall. You’ll know the tunes.
Sunday afternoon free concert over in the Girgarre Botanic Gardens Soundshell - come and hear the amazing Junkestra and other guests perform. More info. E: [email protected] - Irene 0429 149 246

Well all good things are brewing and it’s only a week til many of us will be together celebrating the 17th Moosic Muster!!

There is a great program planned for you to be found on www.girgarre.com . Read it from cover to cover- get some vibes for where you think you will be at any given time over the week- pack your aerogard, sunscreen, hat, chair , and all ya musical instruments!! But most of all a bag full of good humour, patience, your best happy face, words/ chords of your fav songs for walk ups, plenty of snacks or some spare $$ to spend at the kitchen/coffee/lunches etc. oh and maybe a tent or swag.

You will find a roped off area set apart for Uncle Horace’s Chicken Coop, where you can do a bitta pickin with Audrey, Keith n John. Please leave space around this venue to be fair to yourselves! I guarantee you will sleep better!!

There will be the usual portaloos plonked around the camp areas and the prestigious Dunny Fairy who so generously replenishes them on your behalf. Please make her job pleasant- if you don’t drop or drip at home then don’t drop or drip in Girgarre!!

As you set up camp we can’t stress how important it is to be aware of others - park neatly - in a way that you are ready to evacuate in an emergency. Don’t take up more space than you need and remember the shade moves to be shared!!

Mealtimes can be very busy so expect to be in long lines at times.
Our local friends have worked hard to deliver - pat them on the back and show appreciation.

Campers please be aware of the times that you may utilise the Dump site - between 9 pm and 7 am ONLY!! For very obvious reasons!!!!

We have an amazing Chair Committee who will prepare each venue for every change in the program. If you see it’s a little light on team members spare a moment and ask how you can help.

We are excited to meet you all . Campers can expect a welcome visit from George and or Garry, as they greet you . When you have your lanyards they will give you a special receipt to display on your site.

In closing - a reminder to wear your lanyard visibly at ALL times. This is your pass to everything but only if you wear it. Your meal tickets will be handed in at each feast. Please help each other by reminding your buddies to “ lanyard up” . We don’t wanna get the Lanyard police involved.

That’s a lot eh? But please have THE best time- meet many new people- make new friends- and make lotsa good Moosic.

Cya there!!!

It is with much sadness that we share the passing of our esteemed Moosic Muster Pioneer Max Amos. Max was the very heart and soul and the creator of the Moo Muster. His example of inclusion was fostered by offering beginners the simplest steps to learn an instrument…and be part of any jam. He could play almost any instrument . His dedication to Girgarre can be seen in the things we take for granted…..like the instruments in the front room, the screen and projector we use monthly, the sound system that has since been superceded , the systems we use to drive Jigarre Jammin’, the words we use to encourage and invite you to belong to the music world at Girgarre. On a personal level some of us have much to be thankful for, and have missed his wisdom and support over the past years of his illness. We send love to Barb, Karen, Michael and families and his dearest friends. . RIP Max….keep on playing in the Angel Band. 💔
