MUM • the woman behind the name “Sweet Wonderful You.” My business name was always going to reflect a memory.

I grew up with Fleetwood Mac on high rotation on the record player. I remember Mum cutting out patterns & fabric on the lounge room floor listening to ‘You make loving fun,’ the first 3 words, “Sweeeeeeeet wonderful you……” (I know you totally just sang that 😉)

Today would have been her 70th birthday, we have had 18 birthday cakes without her.

Some people like to celebrate their lost loved ones, and some don’t. If you know me, you know I am a ‘let’s celebrate kind of girl.’

So Mum, today is all about you. A day to celebrate you even though you’re not here with us xx

KIDS • I often have families ask whether I think they should bring little ones to the funeral of a loved one. It of course is a very personal decision and you know your child better than anyone else.

However if you ask me, it is usually a yes. It’s a beautiful thing to normalise grief and death. And more often than not, children bring love and light to a service, for those who need it most.

Today I pinched Lucys fluffy, warm blanket off her bed, popped it on the floor of the chapel with some colouring. Then some cute little flower crowned granddaughters coloured side by side for the entire hour, popping their heads up occasionally as they listened to the stories.

It was an opportunity to attach a positive memory to what was a sad day. Their Grandad would have been proud of them x

SUN • the sunshine, sand & cosmopolitans are calling! After an epic wedding season it’s time for this gal to pack the suitcase and take a lil trip…

I will be out of office until June 2nd refreshing my soul…! *insert walks on the beach, sleep, reading, wining and dining, coffees in bed and I am sure countless laughs….

To my couples, if it’s urgent shoot me a good old fashion texty as I won’t be checking my emails at all..

LOVE • let’s start off our Friday right with a lil bit of love 🤍 Last Saturday, Kayla + Karl were finally married (after quite a few attempts) at the amazing Cadella Park.

The ceremony was full of laughs, happy tears (thanks Julie + Shane) and the best part, some good old interjections from Noah, Kayla + Karl’s adorable son (he had impeccable timing!)

Knowing Nic & Josh for a long time, meant I could throw in a few things from me, but majority comes from your questionnaires!

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, the more you give the better your ceremony will be.! Thankfully with Josh’s sharp wit & Nic’s 3500 word essay I had some good stuff to work with!

All in attendance couldn't believe how personal she made the ceremony whilst making sure it was fun and relaxed which is exactly what we had hoped for.

We really appreciated the small things Erin did on the day such as capturing different shots of our wedding & ensuring everything was ready on the day so the ceremony would run smoothly.

Erin was not only there to support us in the lead up to the wedding but was more than happy to provide support and advice afterwards, reaching out to us on the days after the wedding to ensure we had everything we needed.

LOVE • how good was my day yesterday! Standing there and joining 2 of my beautiful friends in marriage.

13 years of good times with these two, watching their love story unfold has been incredible (and rather comical at times with Josh’s quick wit!)

CHANGE • has always been about people, about love, life and story telling. And there’s not much that will ever change that.

2023 brings change to what I do, but not to what is about. After finally catching up on the Covid postponement backlog (almost), it’s time to finally bring into motion what I planned 2 years ago.

I’ll be winding back weddings, sticking to a yearly cap and focusing on my funeral work.

2022 is officially full for Friday-Sundays, and 2023 has only very limited dates remaining for local weddings in and around the Macedon Ranges.

BREATHE • soooooo close! We are nearly at the finish line of 2021. The end of term, social events, shopping, prepping for Xmas and holidays!

Remember to stop and breathe. Take a moment in the madness to appreciate what we have. Appreciate our families to buy presents for, appreciate our friends we get to see for pre Christmas drinks and most importantly appreciate our health. If you have that, you are the richest of all.

After a good old COVID postponement, Jordan & Loretta finally shared their day at the beautiful with their family & friends.

It was worth the wait, because at the ceremony I got to announce something very special 👩🏼‍🍼 Thanks for having me and thank you for entrusting me with your secret for all those weeks!

FUNERALS • guiding & supporting families through the loss of a loved one has become such a big part of . Every single week I sit with multiple families who have lost someone they love.

The last 18 months has certainly taught us to think outside the box when making plans, and funerals are no exception.

Gone are the days of cookie cutter services in a church. Over the last few years, I’ve officiated unique and wonderful services at beautiful wineries, public gardens, restaurants and even at home in the family lounge room & backyard.

Every venue took on a unique meaning & put the family’s mind at ease, knowing it would be what their loved one would have wanted.

Going forward officiating funerals will be majority of my work, it’s something that I love (and I say that in the most respectful way.)

Creating an end of life celebration that is completely unique to the person is so important, I’m here to help guide and support your family through what is such a difficult and challenging time….

𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗘 • five years to the day since I became a registered celebrant. In that time I’ve married hundreds of couples and supported countless families through saying goodbye to their loved ones.

Most importantly I’ve met so many amazing people and made some great friends for life.

The last 18months have certainly turned celebrant life on its head in a HUGE way, but this positive little Aries is saying “onwards & upwards, we’ve got this!”
