Captured That! Photography

Captured That! Photography On my page you will find sneak peeks of photo sessions. Culture means the absolute world to me and I respect all people of all cultures and their beliefs.

My name is Monica I am based in Glen Innes and I am a proud Aboriginal women, born in Armidale and raised on the outskirts of Uralla making me a descendant of the Anaiwan Tribe. I have looked at the world with a photographic mind from a very young age and could never own enough cameras. Now, after 24 years of playing around and doing the occasional photoshoot here and there, I am going full flight

into bringing what I see to life through my camera as a career. I am a mum of 4 and my youngest hits double digits this year so I decided it's my time to shine. I have an additional needs child as well so I understand the tricks of the trade and am willing to accommodate for special needs. I love natural photography. What do I mean by that you ask? I believe the best images come from people feeling comfortable and not feeling pressured to pose a certain way. Most of the time I will do some posed photos and then you just have to imagine I am not there and I will capture the raw moments of your session. If I sound like the right photographer for you, feel free to contact me anytime and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can.

Starting off the week with a photoshoot of a different kind from last year.

Each year I donate a voucher to the Armidale Toy Library for their Christmas raffle.

The winner from a few years ago pondered what she would use it for and then they purchased a new car!

So that was the answer. A photoshoot of their new wheels 🚘

The suspense is killing me 🀣

πŸ”Š The wait is over πŸ”Š

Today comes the big news for Captured That! Photography and it's future direction πŸ€—

My daughter and I have decided to join forces and rebrand Captured That! And take a whole new direction πŸ‘€

Our new name will be.....
Memory Makers - Creations, Events and Photography 😲🩢

This is where Captured That! Creative will now be creating from as well as Captured That! Photography and we are also including events. πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

What do I mean by events? πŸ€”

Over the next week I will breakdown each part of this new entity and explain what I plan to do so keep an eye out for that πŸ‘€

As I will say goodbye to my very loved Captured That! Photography, in February, that has been my life on and off for the best part of probably 15 years of my 25 years experience, I welcome this new venture with open arms and I am so keen to teach my daughter everything I know and more to help set up her future πŸ“ΈπŸ˜

She has the talent and the keen eye I had from a young age and we love working on creations and balloon arches together as well πŸ˜ƒ

So there it is. Big changes but ones I will embrace and work hard towards making my dream become a reality πŸ«ΆπŸ™

Each October I have a mission to complete.

That mission is to raise funds for one of the most vital services this area requires, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

We are a part of the Rescue Club due to a horrendous day 10 years ago and the Base to Base Challenge is one way we give back to the service that saved my husbands life.

This October, my other mission is to photograph the world as I see it while clocking my kilometres.

Here are some of the things I've seen and the link to my fundraising page πŸšβ€οΈπŸ’›

Following on from my rock climbing heroics, this is the beautiful woman I got to help do a maternity photoshoot for.

Copeton was the perfect location for this session with this cute couple. I took a back seat and let my assistant take the reins as she was the one who organised the session.

I just lingered in the background and took shots at different angles and gave some advice when needed.

Shoes off, rolled up jeans, getting in the water and climbing up huge rock faces!

I took a back seat on this session and loved every minute of it!

I do love a moody sky. Made even better with an oceanic backdrop!

Had a weekend on the East Coast and managed to get up before sunrise to walk the sandy shore and feel the warm water lapping my feet. Sadly the sun rising was covered by the clouds.

Images available for purchase. DM for more info!

Well that’s a wrap on another great event. Well done to Hannah on winning First Lady and Bevan on 2nd in under 2L class. A very close battle between Barry Irvin and Bevan today. Congratulations to Jackson Halloran on winning outright in Smudge. Thank you to all the Tamworth officials and volunteers on running an awesome event. Thank you to all our sponsors JC Spares, Lever Automotive Captured That Creative, Captured That! Photography, Andy's Auto Detailing, Lion Batteries and Mum and Dad who pay the bills. Bring on the next event State Hill Climb at Tamworth.

Hello from Glen Innes!

On Saturday morning we decided to update our family photos.

Rain, wind and an undercover venue at the Glen Innes Railway Station was where we pulled this very quick session off.

This was also a lesson for my daughter. She has proven before that she has the ability that her mother has and she got to take the photos of her Mum & Dad.

Mother's Day 2024 started out with me not being able to take part in our Mother's Day Classic Inverell in a walking or running capacity.

This year I sponsored the event by travelling to Inverell as I am now located in Glen Innes and donating my time to this most amazing event, the only one in our region, to raise funds for Breast Cancer research and for the first time this year, Ovarian Cancer research.

It was an amazing morning full of emotion and I had the absolute honour of also delivering the Welcome to Country in Gamilaraay language for the event.

A massive shout out to all the other sponsor's and most particularly our Major Sponsor Paul Faust The Electrician 0400 052 082!

Here's to preparing for our next event in 2026 🩷
