A well needed drink for the soil and our emerging dahlias today and warm weather ahead we’ll be picking buckets before we know it!

Can you tell which two rows we got in first 😂 this was the first 100ish, with too many to willingly share also in grow bags 😅 and just as many to go in this week again…once we lift our ranuncs! I can’t believe we’re moving into summer crops already!!!!

Last night I had the absolute pleasure (ok, ok, it was a total THRILL ) of being a part of a flower farming panel via .not.flown with the fantastic & talking all things stuff ups/try agains and pitfalls.

Something we chatted about was social media and showing up authentically and lowering those rose coloured glasses - spoiler alert, we’re probably/maybe/v likely a little bit dirty and sweaty, often… and I also chimed in about showing up intentionally; meaning, I really don’t let social media rule me anymore. If I post, I try to say something purposeful, maybe helpful, hopefully a little worm casting of knowledge here and there. But don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of the time it really is also…just…flowers! Beautiful flowers. That I love. And I grew. And today is one of those days…

Poppies, but absolute favourite flower. Here they are. Showing their happy lil faces in my home patch… and they’re also at this week in straight bunches and mixed.
Enjoy✌🏻

🕸️NIGELLA🕸️ I dunno, but they just kinda give me weird/cool spidery vibes and I LOVE THEM. Technically this is false advertising because they’re still probably a week or two away (see second photo) but I want you raring to go and excited for them!

A crop that I just let do its own thing! We have a semi shaded bed that has hydies, hellebores and self seeded calendula in with a big section for nigella - or love-in-a-mist. We simply let some of the pods dry at the end of the season, cut them off at the base of the plant, shake and forget. This is recommended for many plants when you’re growing specifically for cut flowers, but in our climate where nigella does best over wintered and likes cooler temps it’s really ok to let nature do what it does best. I still roughly thin at the end of winter/early spring (lol a natural consequence of weeding the bloody sorrel) but this is actually a plant that does fine growing close to its neighbours!

Probably in the same realm as statice, or cafe au lait dahlias for some; you either love it or don’t! What’s your take?

My #1 ✨
Enjoying all the poppies and ranuncs while checking hourly for dahlias peaking their heads through the ground. It’s all so fleeting which makes it all so, so special.

Scabiosa Fama White got the wake up spring memo, check out those ruffles!

The bulk of or perennial scabbies are coming into their second season and are looking LUSH. The flowers are big, the stems are long and strong and they’re giving perfect combo of weird and whimsical. I can’t wait to use these in our first wedding next month ✨

Boy she knows how to throw a lil magic together! Rhi’s gorgeous creation for this year’s Village of Life ball is probably one of my all time favourites. Divine!

Hello flower friends! I know many seasoned dahlia lovers have well and truly commenced their tuber buying, some may have even finished (lol joke, we’re never finished🤣) so, being the good dahlia enabler I am, I’ve continued to make up smaller FIVE packs for those of you who’s space is limited… 5/$35 or 10/$65 + postage ($12-$18) Aus wide excluding NT & WA, sorry 🫶🏼

Varieties are divine as always. So many goodies. Don’t leave them all with me, I’m already growing excess in bags and pots this season 🤣 did you see my story? The planning is ridiculous!

DM me for mystery boxes & who is still in charge of our other stock
