In Year 10 Science, students experimented with making super bubbles! By adding sugar to a water and detergent solution, we made the solution more viscous which resulted in stronger, longer lasting bubbles due to the thicker layer of water that the bubbles now possessed reducing how long they take to evaporate. We also added baking soda to reduce the alkalinity of the detergent to help with the bubble strength, but the sugar is definitely the secret ingredient.
