Signing during the ceremony can add a meaningful pause, allowing your guests to witness the official start of your married life while making for a great opportunity to hand out drinks or confetti… or both. On the other hand, signing afterward can keep the momentum going while building the trajectory towards the kiss celebration, letting you stay in the moment with your guests and each other.

Meet Ben and Yasemin, two beautiful souls raised in different faiths, yet their love story is as authentic and heartwarming as they come. Their journey is a testament to the power of love that transcends boundaries, and it was an honour to be a part of their special day.

As an authorised civil celebrant, I’m often asked about the difference between a religious celebrant and what I do. While a religious celebrant represents a specific faith and follows its rituals, my role as a civil celebrant is to create a ceremony that truly reflects you as a couple. Whether you practice a different faith, or don’t identify with any at all, I’m here to craft a ceremony that’s unique, meaningful, and tailored to your love story.

Australia is a wonderfully diverse, secular society, and it’s no surprise that around 75% of weddings here are performed by civil celebrants like me. The reasons are many – from couples wanting to blend their cultures and beliefs to those dreaming of a ceremony in a place that holds personal meaning to them.

Though I don’t personally practice a faith, my travels and experiences from living and traveling abroad have made me deeply aware and respectful of the many beautiful religions out there. I’m always open to incorporating elements of your faith into your ceremony if that’s what resonates with you.

Love is universal, and your wedding day should reflect what marriage means to you. Whether it’s in a chapel, on a beach, in a garden, or at a private estate, I am here to help you say “I do” in a way that is as unique and special as your relationship.

“Get married on a boat they said... ‘It will be fun,’ they said... AND IT BLOODY WAS!

When Nicolette & Brett first told me they were getting married on a boat, I couldn’t have been more stoked. From meeting and falling in love on a boat in Hong Kong to starting their family afloat, it only made sense to tie the knot on the water too. The vessel, Mermaid Spirit, was in all her glory, catering to this special moment surrounded by family and friends. They’ve had many parties on boats over the years, but none better than this one!

And as Rachael so aptly put it, swiping through the plethora of prospective partners can be a ruthless exercise. Within seconds of seeing their image you decide yay or nay.

From Tinder, to Jimmy gaining Rachael’s parents blessings in the most heartfelt manner, to proposal on Point Cartwright hill, to an epic day and night at The Valley Estate… these two are definitely a couple I will remember. Big love to you Mr & Mrs Philippi.
