The Opening Ceremony of the Flying Disc World Championships was held on the weekend. With around 2,500 players from around 50 countries, the event has been a long time coming due to COVID cancellations in 2020 and 2021. 3vent Productions managed the week-long event build alongside the WFDF World Ultimate Championships 2024 Federation. With 14 playing fields to mark out, 2,000m2 of marquees to install, 720m of fencing to place as well as the bump-in of toilets, furniture, grandstands, sound and lighting, generators, bars and hundreds of metered of cable trays it was a BIG week! The games are well and truly on its way by now so AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE - OI OI OI! 🇦🇺

ULTIMATE FLYING DISC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! 🥏

It’s been a long week of bump-in but the venue is finally ready to go!

You’re probably thinking 🤔 ‘I’ve never heard of this sport?!’ Neither had we until the World Flying Disc Federation asked us to quote on this event back in 2019!

The championships were meant to be held in 2020 however they had to be postponed due to COVID, so this event has been 5 years in the making and we’re so stoked the fruits of our labour are finally coming together!

Soms ’behind the scenes’ pics of our team down in Adelaide last week for SAHMRI's Bright Walk.

The course was 15km long and on footpaths so the best way to get around for the crew was on bike. Many thanks to Martin from
Adelaide Bike Hire - Performance Road Bikes for a bunch of amazing bikes (and accessories) and great service!

Many km’s were ridden and some bums were sore, but the show must go on!

The weather on event night was not great and (like most events) there were some challenges that needed to be overcome but as long as the team keeps smiling, it’ll all be ok in the end.

And our team did exactly that! They worked together like a dream, used their heads to come up with solutions and they kept on smiling no matter what! Therefore, a massive thanks to Mitch, Jordan, Cassey, Ash, Xander, Jess and Cody - you guys are absolutely legends!

And last but not least, of course this event wouldn’t have happened without Kev! He spent many (many!) hours meticulously planning this event and definitely acquired some extra grey hair in the process (if that is possible at all 🤪). Together with the SAHMRI team, he has worked his bum off to make this event a success and based on the feedback from participants so far, the event certainly lived up to expectations!

Aaaaand… that’s a wrap! This amazing team have worked their butts off for the last week and now (at 11pm) the SAMHRI Bright Walk 2023 is officially done and dusted!

Hot showers are well deserved after this cold (and slightly rainy) winters day down south! 🥶
